Oh yes, It's Very Real.. Sadly, things are moving so fast that you get breaking news updates every hour now.

A vaccine is still months away.. Mate in the UK email me said it's similar there to with groceries also they have shortages on hospital beds and ventilators..

NRL just said they are going to play with no Crowds at the games.

If this thing isn't deadly serious, it's a better hoax than even Globull warming and I thought that would never be topped!

Yeah but at least you picked up on the blindingly obvious I missed. :0(

If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

LOGAN and Albert Fish Management Association, formerly known as Carpbusters has postponed their eighth annual carp /Tilapia competition scheduled for March 21 at Wyaralong Dam.

That'd be right ... and at some stage this whole thing was mooted has having started in a fish market, but now the conspiracy theories abound, nobody can be really sure where, why or how this all started ... yet.

Then I read the last two paras of that actual local rag story...

In 2018 the Logan-Albert region was selected as one of a number of case study areas for the National Carp Control Plan,
implementing a strategy to introduce a type of herpes virus known to kill only carp.

NCCP national coordinator Matt Barwick said the program was similar to the myxomatosis solution, which introduced a
deadly virus to combat a rabbit plague in 1950.

    Interesting, no? =)

Interesting Book... Predicted the name and year it would happen.. (2020)

Author Dean Koontz eerily predicted the coronavirus outbreak in his 1981 thriller "The Eyes of Darkness."
The fictional novel tells the story of a Chinese military lab that creates a new virus to potentially use as a biological weapon during wartime.
The lab is ironically located in Wuhan, China and the made-up virus is called Wuhan-400.

ASX200 largest drop on record, OK I get that but I don't understand why Gold gets hit as well.
One would think that is the only safe haven, cash on the bank most certainly is not.

Of course our Gov has no brains to ban short selling.
In the USA they have the brains to stop trading when things out of control, might happen later, but here they just let everybody's investments vanish away as if we won't have enough problem with the upcoming economic disaster.
The only sensible thing would be to just halt all trading until this is all over !!!

At the end of the day, in a SHTF situation, that's all that counts.
These idiots that think they can hoard loads of food and supplies and wait out whatever anarchy they are anticipating are morons. They think when the next door neighbours or anyone in the neighbourhood going hungry sees them with the lights on and knows they have food are just going to be all civil and all abiding and not come take it any way they can?

In any event where there is a crumbling of life as we know it, people will go from house to house looting and looking for anything they can get and will form gangs to get it. Only way you are going to keep whats yours is be armed and when everyone else is, not going to do you a lot of good anyway.

Who in the US wouldn't have access to a gun or knew people that did and had plenty to spare?

Been thinking of taking up archery, now might be the time to go get a bow and a ship load of bolts.

    Default merit due here thanks

Well perhaps the preppers with their bunkers and awaiting to end of civilisation due to the collapse of the financial world have got their wish, but did we believe them or laugh at them ???? now bring out the guns to defend your self from each other for food , how much bloody use is a nuclear sub going to deter your neighbours from blowing your head off to get their next feed or even a airforce f16 or a Apache helicopter gunship . opps that may touch a tender nerve on the ones wanting a DETERRENT for 70 million dallars buy a hell of a lot of food wont it .HA ha ha
A LOT OFFERED ADVICES ON HOW GOOD 128 MILLION BUCK WORTH OF SUB WOULD BE IN THE AUSTRALIAS NEW SUBMARINE THREAD

it just may be that geo65 has the good oil on prepping plenty of power for himself but is he capable of defending it from the hordes of thieves that will be roaming the out back in the days of mel gibsons early movies

I laughed at them and still am!
It won't protect or save them from anything, it will just make them bigger targets than anyone else. When the shops are out of food, where are people going to go looking for it? To the people that do have food.

These preppers also over look a lot of things. Toothache can turn septic and kill you so I hope they are both dentists and doctors. Do the Diabetics amongst them have how how ever many months/ years supply of their medication? I can't buy that much and put it away because it's only allowed so much at a time. what about heart medication and things for all the other common complaints that affect so many that need medication?

I don't think anyone that is not " Prepared" is going to have any great hardship more over than anyone that is. I don't see anyone fighting for food or one another so still not sure how the preppers are going to be better off other than maybe being able to cash in on their bog roll stash.

House-mate works for one of those junkmail/letter-box drop companies ~ Coles has asked for their latest advertising/specials pamphlet drop to be canceled because it carries a message from their CEO stating their position on all this flu business ; they noticed after Woolies & Aldi released such statements, it only gave rise to a panic buying rush, and they're trying to avoid that.

Still not seeing the numbers that mean anything much to me... what have we got, 5 deaths in AU due to this?...so far I've found 3 of those deaths were people over 80yo ..in aged care facilities.
