The CV hasn't gotten the SPAM bots yet. I had a call from the "NBN" today. I had some time so I thought I'd string them along, however, I got called away before I could set up a virtual OS and have fun with them. They wanted me to install a team viewer clone, but I ran out of time.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Lockdown cant take us out of the pandemic Surely some one has the brains to realise this Dont they ?????
As the cases of the virus are diminished it becomes impossible to wipe it out because of the "carriers " who never get the disease but continue to infect others , the only way to ensure that the chances of eradication is over years of the carriers life . So the levels are redundant in this situation or chances are taken with no reference to the outcome cant be achieved the only way is to check and test every one before they return to work and clearance given as being clear . Then the only hangover will be the carriers who will eventually die off with age
All lockdown will do is slow the spreading of it, eventually given enough time it's probably going to spread to all the populations, everywhere.
The lockdowns & social distancing etc. is, in my opinion, to slow the spread of it as much as possible so healthcare services aren't overwhelmed with a huge influx of patients all at the same time.

That’s my take on it. Eventually one of two things will need to happen. Either we allow the disease to spread slowly in the community and build immunity that way, or we sit tight and hope / wait for an effective vaccine. We can also hope that better ways of treating the virus symptoms are developed and thus lower the time to recover and the mortality rate.
Of course, the virus may mutate in the meantime. Apparently strains of the Spanish Flu continued to circulate until the 1950s.

yes typhoid Mary is a typical example , so its proof that isolation alone is not the answer to wiping it out . waiting for a immunity jab will be a long time so the cheapest alternative is mass testing of the whole population and warrant of fitness issued to those who pass , treatment for those who fail if you got a wof you go to work immediately the economy is saved then the hidden infectors are treated ? what could be simpler ????
So they have the disease, they are just asymptomatic
Very different to "carriers who never get the disease", that is just a pure oxymoron
Anyway, to answer the OP, Herd Immunity and Vaccination is the ONLY way out
(according to all the medical papers being written currently) Seems fairly obvious
Kill off the weak and vulnerable, isn't that what nature does, humans are not excluded from that.
I have wondered how newborns would fair?
Is the antibody carried across in the bloodstream, i guess it is.
How long does the Antibody stay active?
And why do we have 2 COVID-19 threads? Is it spreading?

Not Always
Yep! why did you start a new thread on the exact same topic, on a point that has already been covered??
Cheers, Tiny
"You can lead a person to knowledge, but you can't make them think? If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
The information is out there; you just have to let it in."
It show how bad this COVID 19 is it took 56 pages of Austech to bring the virus to it knees and all of a sudden the Virus has re started again on another thread. I hope this wave is less that the First one that was 56.
the thread was started as a matter of treatment and history showing that the economic stages can be over come with mass testing as far as testing is concerned the test in volves poking a stick up your nose rubbing it around a bit and with drawing the snot that contains the virus that is not any thing some one can fiddle as the virus is either present or not ,even "on carriers " If you dont like the thread dont participate in its discussion , may be you are a self appointed sheriff of the threads or just a sad old fart but others like it and it my opinion that i am expressing and others are invited to express theres as well !!!!!
More ramifications... more silver linings..

Hehe.. Yes, the 2nd Wave thread.. I'll play along.. lol
All jokes aside, Yes, the measures that have been put in place have reduced the number of New infections, which is great and we should not squander that success.
Although loosening resrictions prematurely will cause a 2nd wave outbreak which can cost more lives and cause much more economic damage. /Look at NZ
I believe unless we first comprehensively address the public health issue we can't have a functioning Economy - there's a trade-off going on in government between the public health issue and the economics crisis. Lets see on the 14th May what the Gov't decides.. /shrug
Strong fiscal measures are a much better way to offset these economic costs that are pushing Governments to open the economy to early..
Show us the Money ScoMo!! More stimulous packages needed Now!!
Has someone mentioned to the hoarders that now might be a good time to fill their bathtubs with petrol? lol

I found out why it's crashed so much. The USO fund (United States Oil Fund) decided to dump a lot of it's holdings in futures, and their about to expire.
This sums it up quite well and is indicating the USO may fold, but hopefully not.

Yeah, bloody crazy eh? On the plus side, the old RB30 has been really enjoying the constant diet of 98RON, seeing as it's so affordable =)

LOL... What's the good of it all when your not allowed to drive your cars.. Lol especially my v8 classics on club reg..
Trump will pay people to store oil... lol I kid you not..
But remember this is just a futures contract for May, so everybody is dumping it hence why it's claiming it's -252.71%. /Interesting times ahead

I filled up a 200L Drum on Saturday for .73.4 for regular unleaded. Looking for some more drums to fill as well.
My prediction is come September or so when the majority of this is over and people don't give a shit about staying home any more, Petrol could hit $2 a litre as the oil companies try to make up for lost revenue.
I bet all those people that paid so much extra for an electric car to save money on fuel are feeling pretty silly right about now and have gone real quiet about them being cheap to run.
