I've had two "Rasta Zenica" shots. If you look at the stats, a lot more die from cancer or alcohol abuse and no one seems worried about that.....................
- Crossroads: truck driver in his 60’s socialising at a pub, with symptoms, when he should have been isolating
- Northern Beaches: 2 residents their 60’s, visiting a multitude of coffee shops and a bowling club on the beaches, when they should have been limiting movements and practicing social distancing.
- Eastern Beaches: limo driver in his 60’s, unvaccinated, working without proper protection, spread the virus
All outbreaks in NSW have been started by the older population.
As to comments about the vaccines, it has been shown repeatedly that AZ is safe and effective. I agree the Government should have been more activity it’s promotion and procurement, but it remains that the older population were hesitant to take up the vaccine and this delayed the rollout.

Also the much longer interval between doses of AZ means the older population will show a lower rate of full vaccination,
I'm in the stupid position of living in the Tweed area of NSW ...a region that has not had a single locally transmitted case of covid in about 20 months.
Because of this my vaccination interval is 12 weeks for best longer term protection.
I got my first jab 10 weeks ago but need another 2 weeks to be fully vaccinated
So called "freedom day" has been applied uniformly across NSW so now I am denied entry to most of the shops that I was able to enter last week as this area was not in lockdown

B52, as I've said to you before, 9 people (assuming thats correct) had blood clots, most had pre existing conditions. Thats a rate of 0.00005%, now less than that I think. If you are worried and scared by that then you may as well just end it now....seriously. I have 2 AZ shots, no complications One of my daughters has 2 AZs with no effects. Two of my other daughters have pfizer. Both had complications after injection, one quite serious.
AZ is safe and effective....believe the bullsh!t if you want....
<0.00005%.....jeeeez. We ARE really primed for a life in the danger zone aren't we....
As for procurement, where were these magic doses to come from? The rest of the planet had a gazillion people dying very day and you somehow dream that lil'ol Australia with it's minute death toll was going to jump in and get them ahead of everyone else? That we are more important on the world stage? Again, believe the bullsh!t if you want.....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
Ahh, well....twitter no less. Jeez.
And morons like, well...some people, have made this "safe and effective" solution unviable due to baseless and moronic gossip.
I hope all those involved are proud of themselves and I can't help wondering how many gullible individuals died as a result of their dumb mob mentality....

I reckon your stats are skewed. Yes the three outbreaks you mentioned were from people in the older demographic, but that is only a small representation of the older population. The greater spread, by far has been from the younger generation believing that the virus didn't affect them, and resenting the restrictions to their "freedom". Just have a look at the crowds in the "freedom protests", or the rogue travelers sneaking between states.
And as for take-up hesitance in the older population, again I don't believe it was the older population refusing to be vaccinated with AZ, so much as the, so-called enlightened, younger generation that are more susceptible to the current fads for weird diets and non conformist ideals. Obviously in early days, when only the older generation were eligible for Astrazenica, and we had very few supplies of other vaccines, the ones who were slower to get vaccinated were from the older generation, but the younger generation weren't even relevant in the numbers.
You can take the figures any way you like and make it look one way or the other.
Edit: I forgot to mention, that the older generation, being offered AZ only, had a 12 week wait between vaccinations as well. This would have represented as lower double jab rates, once the younger generation were getting Pfizer, with only 3 or 4 weeks between jabs.

Also the older generation has more underlying conditions which (on advice from their medicos) precluded them from getting the jab.

LOL found out today when I was fairly roughly denied entrance into BigW.
We haven't had a single transmitted case in our town since way back last year either.
Same 2 weeks to wait for my second AZ so I can have a halfway bit of protection with this second class vaccine following the advice from peer reviewed tests that 12 weeks provide, rather than that of our our local 'expert' advice to shove it into us ASAP.
Anyhow I went straight to Terry White and asked cheekily if they would give me walk-in Moderna straight away, not a chance!
No help showing them the link of much better results with the AZ/mRNA combo that is recommended in Germany, or that we will be using mRNA(or other non AZ) as booster shots for us oldies anyhow.
As Pfizer and Moderna have only been available for a little over two weeks in our regional area, those who were lucky to get them can't be double dosed yet either.
Good one, Perrottet!

Four days into the job and you haven't done anything to stop Festers complaining.

Oh, great some fxxxwit from NSW has entered Tas with no G2G pass, then escapes quarantine & when caught is uncooperative of his movements.
Anyone know the name of this oxygen thief? Name & shame & his friends who he visited & done the same.
Now the South of Tas is going into snap 3 day lockdown, which could be extended if more cases show up.
What is it with these selfish lowlifes..
SOUTHERN Tasmania will enter a three-day lockdown from 6pm tonight, Premier Peter Gutwein has announced.
Mr Gutwein said the man who escaped hotel quarantine had not been cooperative, leading to inconsistencies in his movements.
It has been confirmed that the Covid-positive man has the Delta strain of the virus.
The Premier said it took two days to find out that the man had been to Woolworths in Bridgewater.
A close contact of the man breached home quarantine and has been picked up by police.
New Tas border rules explained.

Just watched Peter Gutweins 11am press conference, he wants the book thrown at this low life too, as the ~3k in fines so far does not come close to fitting the crime.
The Police rep, said that it's possible if they can get a conviction in court, the penalty that is applicable is a 17k fine or 6 months prison, dependant on the sentencing applied by the judge.
Cheers, Tiny
