The following sites give good up to date information on the problem but is targeted at medical professionals.

This YouTube channel has a large number of videos on the subject.

This is a link to this week in virology. It's very authoritative.

    Have fun :-)

The coronavirus could be mutating as scientists claim to have identified a more aggressive strain

Researchers in China say preliminary research shows that the novel coronavirus could be mutating and there are at least two strains of the deadly virus that has killed more than 3,200 people and infected more than 92,000 across the globe.

Interesting about the age group / survival rate numbers
Am i to then believe that a young person can muster up enough antibodies to successfully fight the disease ???

So, now that we can holiday in the Maldives for $5.60, should we help with the spread?

Seems to me the smartest thing to do is stay the Fk in Oz!
Wish I could get that through to my Daughter who is planning another 8 week trip in June. Worrying the guts out of me but I guess either it will have all blown over by then or got worse and she won't be able to get anywhere so all good either way. Her and the wife do work around a lot of Asians and others which also concerns me. If this takes off in Sydney we are heading up the country and getting groceries delivered till it's over.

Mrs went to get milk and things last night and said there was hardly any toilet paper left and other things were noticeably missing as well. Seems people are panicking even out here.
She did Bulk buy fly spray, going to take it up to Dad where there is a Mosquito plague and the shops have run out of insecticide and Aerogaurd.

As for alcohol, I'm not a big drinker but I have maintained since my teens that a good straight shot of spirits does wonders for a cold. For some reason the same amount of booze mixed with anything does not seem to have near the same effect but Mixing spirits is blasphemy anyway.

I also keep a bottle of vitamin C tablets on my desk and eat them like sweets. Might have 10 or 20 a day. I read somewhere that large doses of Vitamin C keep colds away but you need a lot more than the recommended dosages.
Have not had a cold in the last 3 years where I got one every year without fail before even when I got a flu shot. Haven't had one the last 2 winters so the Vit C theroy seems to be holding up for me.

Look it is working, nobody has picked up the Coronavirus on Russian territory. Anything else is fake news Putin says:

On Feb. 5, 2020, experts gathered at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland USA., for a panel discussion concerning the most important things to know about the coronavirus outbreak.

Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university.

The video was posted Feb.6, 2020 by the World Health Organisation.

Wonder when all the Facebook Mums follow suit on the toilet roll fiasco and all start pulling their kids out of school?

Or when we start running out of all our China manufactured Electrical products, LED downlights, Lamps, Switches, TV's, AirCons, White Goods, etc
I see LED, OLED and ULED TV's are not on special... In fact they are more $$$ than October last year

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

This household has stockpiled plenty of flat screens over the years.
Just counted 6 dedicated for TV, won't even dare to try counting the computer monitors.
Strangely no faulty ones, just a couple of outdated ones in storage.
Maybe I can get big bucks on Ebay for them soon

...although if I could get past all the toilet paper I could install the outdated TVs in the toilets.

    CORONA VIRUS WARNING!!!!

I don't want to alarm anyone but the coronavirus will soon spread in an irreversible way.
The first means of contamination are bank notes, don't touch them. Wear gloves and place all notes in a snap lock bag. Leave them in your letterbox and message me your address.
Tomorrow morning I'll come by for collection and take them immediately for destruction.

That would definitely not be accurate.

It looks like it only depicts countries that have setup measures to monitor and try to deal with this.

Some smaller nations probably don't have the knowledge, funding or ability to attempt to get on top of it, so I'm sure there are plenty people that don't know they have it or have died, as the smaller and poor nations would not be capable of monitoring or dealing with this problem.

After the latest poo-scare with hoarding of toilet rolls, further craziness is possible.
