Up late, chatting with decades long friends on IRC in the EU, UK, US...always good to have unbiased reporters on the ground.

Rather funny chat about some recent news reports about how Chase Carey, Fox, Sky etc et al are all and have been moaning and whining for some time about the ever dwindling numbers of people watching the live coverage, via cable, online, foxtel or whatever.

Then suddenly we're faced with the prospect, that the only healthy safe way to watch these and other sporting events, is to not congregate as crowds of sports fans... but to stay at home and watch it from there instead. With cars, crews and drivers, and empty grandstands and no crowds. Albert Park's going to be an interesting experiment ; what if everyone catches the 'flu?

Next chat, machinations of coincidences =)

    Formula 1

Australian F1 called off according to the BBC:

The Australian Grand Prix has been called off, two senior Formula 1 sources have told BBC Sport.

There has been no official confirmation from F1 or governing body the FIA but the news follows a McLaren team member testing positive for coronavirus.

The situation has been rapidly developing through Thursday night in Melbourne but an announcement that the race will not take place is expected.

The announcement throws into doubt the rest of the Formula 1 season.

    Trump, the chosen one

    'Not concerned'
Trump, meanwhile, said he was not concerned about being exposed to the coronavirus after reports surfaced about the Bolsonaro aide.

"Let's put it this way: I'm not concerned," Trump told reporters.

    World Share Markets

    Melbourne F1

According to BBC Radio 5 Live Vettel and Raikkönen are already on their flights back home, still no statement from the FIA because of legal complications.
    Bahahahaha

Either way, No Fans at the Melb F1
    Its been called

ScoMo full of shit once again in less that 24 hours

I'm really amazed in all this, there hasn't been an announcement limiting or preventing visitors to Hospitals.
    Especially to ICU patients.

I was thinking in the footy tipping thread, what happens if one team member tests positive. The whole team must then go into quarantine for two weeks. What about the teams that they have played? You get the piccie.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    Bye Bye F1...

Lucky it wasn't far to come..
Thank's AU Gov for letting Italy in...
    Ya bellends
One guess where this Stimulus package will go :-(

Foxtel and 10 Bold left with a lot of fill in time for thier presenters

Interesting that staff at the Box Hill Hospital have been taking and sending home medical supplies (Face Masks, Hand Wash and Gloves) to China since last December!
There is now a Memo to all staff that Hospital Supplies will now be monitored and store rooms locked

Staff that are home in Self Isolation don't even need a Medical Cert to return to work....
FFS, you'd think a Hospital would be a bit more organised.... Then again, the whole place is run by Asians now

India will shut its borders tonight.. 1.1 billion people very little testing done, just like the US.

I'm ready to wrap my Torana's up in plastic with me in it.. As long as I have WiFi and big screen tv AND couple packs of Monte Carlos..

i'll be fine, wife can stay in the house.. lol

Now that they have all already arrived from their infested countries, what's the point of the ban.
Could have done the swab and race without spectators at least... and without Hamilton.

Agreed, now how do they fly back to Italy
What... Simply fly to a neighbouring country then drive in?

    Or are they special?

I now understand why it takes a while to call a Pandemic and PM to make public announcements
Because its takes a few days for them and all thier rich mates to sell off thier shares first.

Flight Centre announce they will close 100 stores by June

You guys are amazing....conspiracies, conspiracies.....the government follow the advice of their medical experts. The medicos change their tune as the situation evolves.

Talking to an international doctor a short while ago who says no one in the medical profession knows exactly whats going to happen. So how could the state and federal governments?

Saw Shorten on the tube this morning taking his position from twitter and the panicers. And "each way" as well contradicting himself from his position on a stimulus just two days ago. Complete clowns the pair of them.

At least the "open border" greens have had the sense to hide and shut up. If their policies were in we'd all be infected already.

Tinys cartoon from the joke section says it all.....

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

Flight centre have been on the brink for ages, like video stores they are an outdated model.

Now they'll probably try and claim it on their insurance.......

Maybe the Internet will collapse with many just having to stay home to stream something for the next 3-4 months. Wonder if ISPs have thought of that. The lack of foresight deciding for FTTN and everybody hammering the 4G network might finally wake a few up about the laws of Physics. 5G is just specs on the map.

With all the doom and gloom about our economy China has delivered little surprise that seems to have gone unnoticed:

    $570billion government stimulus for infrastructure.
Iron ore is still our cash cow, unless ScoMo tells all the miners to stop working too.
