I have to stop listening to that hypocritical controversial BS from Mr. Economy and his know it all med 'expert'. Gives me an anger rage.

All his restrictions and the $88 billion are pointless when we all just continue to go to work and bring all our kids to school, like he recommends.

At the current rate of climb when they finally decide to go into total shut down in a month and we have exceeded Wuhan, then it will certainly last 6 months and the economy totally down the drain for years.
Do it now and we could be out of it in 3 months.

Don't forget we hardly have any ventilators. That is why so many die in Italy and so will they here.
At least the USA are making their own but we can't even make a match stick in this country.

We have to stop listening to those morons you voted and start listening to the doctors!

The point was made on Sky news ( no doubt one of the lefties favourite Punching bags) In reference to what Trump said ( are you lefties going blue in the face yet?) that the cure can't be worse than the disease. And I think rather than ranting and puffing and blowing because the wrong person in this case said it, It needs to be considered.

The deaths with this are fairly specific in whom they affect. The old and the sick. It would appear to me that it's far easier to protect the Vulnerable and isolate them to keep them out of harms way than it is to try and protect everyone. That's not going to happen anyway, cat is already out the bag so why not concentrate all the efforts on protecting those whom really are at risk rather than Fking everything up for years?

This idea of just shut everything down has unknown Consequences because it's NEVER been done before so therefore there are going to be many things that come up out of the blue and they are unlikely to be all good ones. Not everyone has the ability to pay even for food from their savings let alone mortgages, power and every other damn thing. Wouldn't worry me a bit if I had to live 2 years without a dollar coming in.... NOW. There was a real long time when we lived paycheck to pay check and EVERY dollar counted. I may be sitting pretty now but there was a long time when we weren't and I'll never forget that. Nothing has changed for a lot of people and it's not their fault.

I can't even begin to imagine how this is going to affect so many small businesses and their employees. I mean literaly can't get my head around it. If I would have had to close my business down for a month or 3 and have no income. NFI what the hell we would have done. Was hard enough for a long time as it was.

Yeah, people are going to die from this as they do every year from the flu and just like the flu, there is NOTHING we can do to stop that. What we can do though is focus the most attention on these at risk people and protect a targeted group a hell of a lot better than we can protect everyone en masse. Might be a lot better to keep things going and not fk the whole population and economy over than shut it down and protect people that will brush it off anyway.

All the options need to be considered not just dismissed in a hissy fit because it wasn't the guy you support that suggested it. We always think our guy would have done it perfect and made all the right decisions which proves how incompetent humans are right there.

And seeing people are so PC touchy about anything racist, lets look at that closely.
My wife is a manager in a council with loads of filthy lebbos that are hell bent on turning every place they go to into the same crime ridden filthy shitholes they came from. All day today she has been dealing with these self centred pricks that won't not only adhere to the rules and regs that have been handed down, but have come in and been screaming about them and making threats beccause they aren't what THEY want. I was on the phone to her today and she suddenly dropped it mid sentence and had to run to the rescue of one of her Junior staff who some muslime shitball tried to grab across the counter and was screaming at like the wack jobs most of them are. I heard it and sat there waiting to see oif she was OK.

That wasn't the only one. Security had to forcibly remove 3 others as well today and escort several more out the building. The police had to get involved again when one of them made a threat over the phone to come in and shoot everyone there because he blamed the council for closing the wedding joint where his kid was getting married in a fortnight.
Thats the mentality and IQ of these Filthtards.

These leb scum ( and anyone offended by that, please continue to be outraged) aren't going to abide by anything OTHER than what they want to do. They are a law unto themselves at the best of times and having lived, worked , done business with them and had to suffer the crunts most of my life, I can tell you most of them don't have the IQ of your average house plant. They are overloaded on a sense of superiority, violence and disdain for anyone and anything other than their own kind and sure as shit won't listen to any authority other than their own, if even then. Around where my wife works, even the cops are scared of them and won't do shit.

Anyone that thinks these pricks are going to follow shutdowns and do what they are told is a fking idiot. No other way to put it. I will also guarantee, that when this is all over, if the truth comes out, which is always a longshot Given the libtard whineing about anything they don't like being " Racist" (Their favourite term but one they struggle to actually understand the meaning of) That these antisocial pricks that don't belong in the western world anyway have the highest incidences of this Disease of anyone. They think they are superior, they are all tough and special, the rules are for other people anyway. Not going to stop them doing a damn thing they want to because they don't have the brains to realise what inbred Neanderthals they are.

Just wait a month till Ramadan and see how well they observe the laws already put in place about closing places of worship and no large gatherings and all the rest. They won't give a shit and the cops won't do shit and the media won't want to know.

Those that want a total Shutdown, you get off your arse and go tell all the Lebbos in Lakemba and greenacre and Punchbowl they can't hang round in their shit hole cafes and restaurants or go slaughter the goats in the public parks in a few weeks time when 1000 of them gather at one time. Go tell them the Lakemba Mosque has to close and they can't go arse up to Allah and lets see if you make it out alive.
And just to give the bedwetters something to have a breakdown over, I'll bet my arse a great many Asians also go about things business as usual mainly because as a smart people, Their lack of common sense is fking astounding. They will put on their face masks and go about their ways thinking they are impervious to Lightening.

I'll also guarantee that if any civil unrest breaks out, it will be these lebbo tools or the sudanese whom are Melbourne's resident parasites, that are responsible. And you think these lawless thugs are going to take any notice and stay in their hovels like they are supposed to? Yeah Right.

Now the bleeding hearts can be as upset as they like about that but anyone that doesn't have their head shoved up their leftist arse knows that's perfectly true.

The PM talks about "Australians" all the time but these people do not hold Australian values, do not respect Australia and think they are above all Australians and are superior.
It is not only logical but clearly demonstrated well and truly today that asking them to behave responsibly isn't going to fking work and that's all there is to it.

When arsewipes come into a council with all that is going on screaming their DA is taking too long and Refuse to shut down seating in their grease pits and ring up screaming they aren't going to close the Mosque, Trying to shut things down has a BIG chink in the armour.

Instead of those of us supposedly with an IQ over 10 finger pointing and bitching, Maybe it's time to Consider all the options and not just piss and moan because those faced with what is a situation they are never going to win , aren't with all the advise and resources they have, doing what those without any qualified input to guide them don't agree with.
And it wouldn't matter 2 Fks who was in the big Chair right now, Mistakes will be made and no one would have ever got it right.

FWIW I don't think schools should be open either and if my kids were still in school I'd be keep them home and if the school or gubbermint didn't like it, tough.
The fact is though so many parents look at school as Child minding and rely on it so they can both work and put food on the table. That's another aspect to look at. May not be in the best health interests but is having people loose their jobs and their homes going to be healthy in the long run either? For those not elderly or at risk, The woo hoo flu is going to be a shitload less debilitating than loosing their home and face financial ruin.
Yeah, keep away from the grandparents other than drop food at their door if you have to but keep the risks long and short term in proportion.

Something has to be done and in this case nothing is something so just like when the guy you voted for don't get in , sometimes you have to put your big girl panties on and just go with it and shut the fk up with the endless bitching and blame gaming.

So how does this 2M social distancing work on Trains, Buses, Planes, Cars, Ferries?

I have also noticed in these rather serious global times, no one is offended anymore???

Did we just cure the permanently offended?

Your Coalition naked hatred slip is showing again Fester.

Which doctors? The ones on faceache? The ABC? Geeez, I hope not. I'm pretty positive that the Commonwealth and State Chief medical officers take medical advice from a raft of doctors, especially infectious disease epidemiologists from all over the world.

Last I heard, the doctors association, the AMA, supported the Labor/Coalition stance. You know, the panel that has more Labor members than the Coalition that we "voted for". Of course the AMA could have changed their stance I suppose.

Now, I personally think that going really hard now is the best approach, but I'm not an expert and I like to think I'm not prone to panic. How many of the people out there in joe ordinary land are going to go nuts if we do? How many of them are semi isolated in coastal enclaves?
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

With the Death Rate from COVID-19 being Double in Men than Women, across all age groups.

How many Gender changes are we about to see?

What an utter and total F@#k up this Teaching from Home has become.
You really wouldn't think it could be that hard, especially with kids so good at Social Media and Messaging...
But let the Grubament get involved and they will f@#k it right up

    Some examples:

Teachers and Teachers Aids are being told to use Web X and Zoom to converse with each other and students
But, here is the catch, there can be NO one on one teaching or conversations between a Teacher/Teachers Aid and a Student, NONE!!!!
    All duty of care crap

Next, a Student or Teacher can NOT email each other, once again, duty of care, if mis-information is given etc

So somehow, the class room must be held, with everyone talking at once, in an open platform
If a student is having a learning difficulty and wants help, he/she must ask in front of everyone and the aid will be given in front of everyone, while the class continues
    FFS....

Next, all these Teachers and Teachers Aids are home, using thier home internet, a lot do not have Home ADSL, just thier Mobile Phone account (data running out fast) who is paying for that????

On top of this, Teachers are still being asked to pay their insurance fee for thier vehicle they leave park at school
(yes, that happens, the School doesn't cover it, you pay into a group insurance... What other work place does that?)

All in all, no one is organised.

To think, School of the Air has been doing this for 50 years + with no problems at all

The irony in the above, is Teachers Aids were brought into classrooms to give "one on one" help to students having learning difficulties

You have to shake your head...

Where are you getting that info from?

We have been doing home schooling successfully for a week and it works very well with low bandwidth.
I see no problem with a low priced data plan even with mobile tethering.
Teachers and students communicate on what they call the Stream on Google Classroom, a simple text based chat room.
Tasks are up and downloaded as docx files and are usually less the 100KB, sometimes just 10KB.

Everybody on a low income will be getting 2 x $750 in the coming months. Those already on Centrelink will be getting shitloads
Surely the one off $99 for a whole year of data 24GB from Aldi should not be too much to ask.
An old secondhand phone dedicated for the purpose is not hard to find.

Nobody has to come with the excuse I can't do home schooling because they have no Internet unless they PHYSICALLY have no access far out in the bush.

From my partner that is doing it as we speak, direction coming from her boss

She is a Teachers Aid, they are told to use Video Streaming on the platforms i mentioned above
School with 120 Teachers and 1200 students, just a smallish regional school

She has already used 10% of her Personal Data quota just this morning, bahahaha i guess when it runs out, no more remote teaching

And quite frankly, what does that money have to do with a work expense???
    Or a second hand phone?

Last time i checked, business's or work provided work vehicles, tablets, dongles, whatever is needed to carry out the work related task

    I forgot to add

She must wear her School Work Clothes and have nothing in the background during Live Video Streaming

There was also a bunch of other nonsense she rattled on about that i had forgotten

So they at least provided a work laptop... BUT, the Apps are on the Tablet, so she must use the Tablet, bahahaha

Education Dept. needs some farking Educating

And on the backend of this, the students, where are they getting thier Data from?

Maybe we go back to Books and Assignments like we all did!!

EDIT: The price of those Optus Unlimited Data SIMs gone up yet?

I can see Teachers will be asked to come to School and conduct e-classrooms from there
Using the Schools Internet and Private Network
Thus allowing teachers that normally conduct the same class to be there at the same time

The fact there is 120 Teachers in the one indoor location may be over looked

We have been doing home schooling successfully for a week and it works very well with low bandwidth.
I see no problem with a low priced data plan even with mobile tethering.
Teachers and students communicate on what they call the Stream on Google Classroom, a simple text based chat room.
Tasks are up and downloaded as docx files and are usually less the 100KB, sometimes just 10KB.

I just spoke to Geelong school, they seem to be doing it the way you have described

Teacher uploads her lessons to a central hub,
the kids read the lesson, do the work and send it back to the hub for correction.

less band width than an email, no video conferencing or anything like that, it's how teachers do all there reports nowadays apparently

She has already used 10% of her Personal Data quota just this morning, bahahaha i guess when it runs out, no more remote teaching

She will not be getting any of that
And quite frankly, what does that money have to do with a work expense???
    Or a second hand phone?

Last time i checked, business's or work provided work vehicles, tablets, dongles, whatever is needed to carry out the work related task
I was talking from a student's/parent's perspective, not a teacher. I thought that would be clear in my posting.

AFAIK, teachers are still required to stay and work at school and of course will be using the resources the school provides them. I don't buy that claim that she is using her personal data quota for that and if that were the case she would obviously be reimbursed.

At some stage some(more older and vulnerable) teachers may be able to work from home.

Any chance that is related to a private school?

I remember repairing a bunch of two way radios for a private school and was running after the money for months.
