try memcheck
Is there any Windows software out there to help track down a memory leak in third-party software?
My System (C:/) partition is 300GB but in reality there is only about 130GB of data on it, however I have a massive memory leak to the tune of about a GB per day! The partition slowly fills up over about a six month period and eventually I get a BSOD, Windows reboots, and the partition drops back to only having 130GB on it again.
I've done some trial 'n error testing (running some programs and not others while watching the partition grow) and I have a very strong suspicion as to what software is causing this, but I won't name it here yet as I'm not 100% sure.
What I'm after then is some kind of software that can positively identify the memory leak, then I can go to the developers with the problem?
Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks dai, but that seems to be aimed towards developers (?) and I was hoping for something a little more 'user friendly'.
I have nothing to do with the leakey software in question, except being a user of course.

I cant resist it DID YOU TRY SOME SILASTIC AROUND THE HOLE . Sorry but it stops leaks on my boat windows lol
..lol... it'd be more the case of where -isn't- it leaking ..both in the software and personal information risk sense =)
Just FWIW... the OP's description is possibly in error here - or at least, nothing from that symptom set necessarily indicates memory leakage.
What is does say, is that whatever program is chewing up diskspace inside userland (not swap), so you really need to obtain that file_handle and examine it to find out what/why the program is creating that datafile. Once you find the file it's writing to, you'll have a better path towards finding out what's going on. (I've seen software that has debug explicitly enabled and you have to stipulate no-debug at runtime to avoid a huge logfile being created)

i think in saying memory leak the op has mislead you
his speaking space, not ram leakage
so memory leak (like lots of members here )
& find your space
is more what his looking for
probably temp files, win update leftovers etc
