Hi Everyone,
First post!
We have a 55 Inch Hisense LED tv brought new but cant find warranty stuff etc so dont know how long it had but pretty sure it would be out.
About 2 months ago we discovered the tv wasnt working. No red light indicator. Tried unplugging the ac and replugging in. As this was done there was a zapping noise and the red light flckered on and then back off. We discovered at a certain angle the power will come on. We went and purchased another cable exactly the same as original and tested that and there was nothing unless you really push on the plug outwards which in turn makes the zapping noise, and comes on. So the plug has had a piece of rubber wedged in between the cable and tv to hold the plug so it would work LMAO. More recently the tv has been moved and it actually didnt need the rubber piece and stayed on for about 3 weeks. Now its still getting zappy noises but cant get it in the right position to stay on.
Whats the problem
Any ideas on what we could do to fix it? Whether its easy enough to solder something or is it a board inside that might be loose? Any other thing it could be.
Thanks in advance.

If you mean a typical soldering iron used for circuit boards as being 'normal'... then yes.
You don't need any special solder, although many/most manufacturers use lead-free solder, leaded solder is still fine to use.

Contact the manufacturer (Google is your friend) .... .
It depends what "you call normal".Can i use a normal soldering iron.
"Normal" means different things to different people.
You can possibly use the iron that you refer to in your post.
A soldering iron rated at 25 to 45 watts should be more than ample (such as at ).
SeeI havnt done much soldering. Ive done a subwooofer and amp, and wired up some tail lights to a ute before. I know you need different solder for electronics but what sort?
0.71mm Duratech Solder - Hobby Tube
CAT.NO: NS3008
$1.95 This should be ideal.
The socket may not be available as a part (may only come as part of the power board assembly) but it's most likely to be solder joints.
Advice given above by others regarding soldering etc all good.
Yeah just pulled the back off and one side of the plug on the back of the board the solder is like faded grey where the others are all normal....so ill get some solder and put a drop on it and see how it goes then. Great
Thanks guys.
