Default Different versions of OS on same machine get different internet speeds

On this machine I have, what is known as frugal installs of, Puppy 4.3.1, 5.2.8, 5.7.1 and BionicPup.

I have run some speedtest.net tests on each of these. The really interesting upshot of the tests is that the version of the OS affects the internet speeds. I assume the only variable is the driver in each OS.

I found this to be rather interesting given the "bragging rights" that speedtest.net seems to create.
