Default What have you been doing during the COVID-19 Lockdown?

Might as well have a bit of fun....
For me the lockdown really hasn't changed much, apart from my recreational life.

I seem to have the same list of jobs around the house i've had for the passed 2 years
This oppertunity to get them done hasn't really seen any great improvement in that situation sadly.

    Jobs i need to do:
    Sell Road Bike
    Sell Dirt Bikes
    Sell Caravan
Install new LED downlights in house
    Paint house internally and externally
    Rebuild external retaining walls
    Sort out crap in workshop
    Unlock a Windows Laptop
    Reno Bathroom and Kitchen
Rebuild MacBook Pro with SSD and new Battery

    Jobs Completed:
    Coffee and Austech

Anyone using this time to tackle a long lost task?
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

LOL my list is huge but so far i have only sorted out all my
    networked electronic devices.

Our internet was fooked and the nbn came and sorted everything out
seemed there was an issue at the pillar.

so i have gone through and have everything connecting to my router via mac
address and given assigned ips .

this lets me easily check on things .

Well I've been watching a lot of movies that I've saved on my PVR over the last five years and never been able to get around to. However this morning I went shopping at Woolies for the first time in the seniors hour. All went well till I got to the checkout where I encountered an operator no older than my granddaughter who really pissed me off. She directed me in the new procedures with, "You have to do this, you have to do that" and so on. I complied but when I arrived at the cash register I said politely to her that rather than directing people with commands it would be polite to say, "Please do this or Please do that". She apologised, however when I came to pay with my card and I asked for some cash out, again she stated she didn't have enough and commanded, "You'll have to go to the service desk". Don't they teach these kids any customer service? Why could she not say, "Sorry I'm a bit short, but I'm sure the service desk could help you". I walked out and down the road to the ATM, (which I was trying to avoid having to do), with frustration bubbling out of me.

I've cleaned out my "carpentry" shed which was about 6 feet thick in sawdust. When I get my stimulus money I'm going to have to stimulate the economy at bunnings so that I can finish my outside bathroom.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I wonder if they checking that?
Or if you just walk in with a pair of boots and a HiViz top, on your phone swearing at some prick if that will suffice

i was asked to show my powerpass trade card or
prove i was a tradie by either showing license - invoices etc
    at tweed and burleigh.

Reason is because they were getting slammed and tradies could not get
needed gear plus with the social distance they strted making ppl
wait on x marks the spot outside and only so many at once inside.

That was stopping tradies for ages and not good and they have security
at the doors plus one way in out a different way etc.

Got this from my Brother In Law. True story!
    KIDS, CORONA & A BIRTHDAY
Wednesday 1 st April started with an early call on Messenger to No.2 daughter,
Bronwyn, wishing her a happy birthday. Now living in Thailand, she advised the Thai
Government was considering repatriating non-citizens due to the virus and hence
with no house to return to, she and Noel would need to live with us for the time
    being.
Later in the morning, No.1 daughter, Debbie, who is a nurse at Lameroo Hospital
and farmer advised that their daughter from Mt. Isa, Danni, has had to quarantine on
the farm with them and hence because of Debbie’s work at the Hospital, that she
and husband, Anthony, would need to stay with us for a few days so as not to be
exposed to Danni. No problems so far.
After lunch, No.3 daughter, Andrea, texted in a panic that her next door neighbour
had contracted covid-19 and so as to not take the chance of exposing Andrea’s
autistic daughter [who is a regular attendee at Minda], could they come and stay with
us for the while. With bedrooms now potentially filling up, we are becoming
concerned with major readjustments to our life.
Late in the afternoon, our son, Mark, rang to say that their son, Aaron, has been in
contact with his girlfriend who has recently returned from the UK and hence Aaron
will now be in quarantine also. To alleviate the possibility of cross infections, could
Mark, Judy and daughter, Zoe, stay with us for the while leaving Aaron in the house.
    Now we have a problem.
I said to Mark that before he goes any further---and I recounted to him what his three
sisters had asked of us earlier in the day--- to which he replied “Oh, is today
Bronwyn’s birthday?” “Yes”, I said i.e. the 1 st of April. “Dad---Dad---Dad, and what is
April the 1 st ” he asked. A great silence from me then---Oh No!---APRIL FOOL!
For a couple who is rarely duped, our sense of relief is matched only by our mirth
that our kids could pull off such a stunt. Next week, we are considering talking to our
lawyer about redrafting our will and leaving everything to the Blind Gnat society.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    Work, work and more work.

Apparently car parts are a essential service.

Yes sales down, but perfect as that means everyone here gets $1500 govt subsidized a fortnight towards their wages.

Still 7 days a week with late nights but weekends with the factory roller door closed so i can get on with my project developing big brake kits on CAD, just got some 7075 t651 Billet alloy in to run through the CNC machines making adapter brackets.

Virus or not, no rest, just work.

And customers told, no more pickups, sick of washing my hands after each customer, need gloves on to handle money, buy online, get it delivered, take it or leave it.

    Now I am semi retired.

My Sound hire work has become deceased.

Otherwise, work as usual. Leave home and drive to workshop.
Sit at bench and repair a particular electronic device.
    Go get lunch.
Sit at bench and repair same.
    Drive home.
Get beer and check Austech etc.

The devices are delivered and picked up.

Been in self isolation for the last few years

I was planning on doing absolutely nothing, boring yeah ? Not any longer... lol

A neighbor has taken on a tenant (young couple) and they have decided to park their car out front of my house.. /all day, .... There's no room in their driveway or out front aswell.

Yesterday, i left a note on the cars windscreen saying 'Please move your car'.

I have my family daily vehicle's all in a single file in my driveway and sometimes i need to get into the garage to unlesh the beast.. No room out front to park some of my cars when he's parked there.

This morning the young guy walks out from the neighbors, reads the note then walks up to the last car in My drive way and sticks the note on the windscreen../mother farka.. watched him on cctv.

I could declare War on the mother farka and Nuke the dick or i could play games..lol

Any suggestions? LOL .. he has moved his car and has driven off somewhere. I quickly reversed my car with the note and parked it out front of my place.. lets see where he parks when he comes back..lol

Lol... brightened up my isolation lol

Three weeks before the lockdown I purchased another car a Holden WN Caprice V that in good nic so I decided to detail it so I drained the bank account by buying Car Care Products (shi.t some polishes are $1500) so I had to Clay Bar with help with my daughter as you have to roll and flatter the clay bar ever 200mm sq and when finished the Black car was done + all the treatments that is needed and finally do the carnauba wax. LOOK AT THAT SHINE!!

After this I lifted the car on 4 stands and spent two days cleaning underneath as this car had surface rust everywhere ( not seen on any of our other cars) + some of the Aluminum suspension rods were effect because no doubt this car lived close to the coast so i used WD40 to clean it off and 95% went away and after this I put a 12V charging socket like I have on all of the cars to the cars to keep a trickle charging, the photo below show what I did on 2 VF's and 1 VE .
This week starting on Monday I have to clean the Leather upholstery on the Caprice V and other inside the car with help from my wife and my daughter, I like this car as it has 2x TV in the rear, I love Tv's so the next time I see my Doctor I can tell him I have TWO more TV's and they are in the car Heeee he think I'm a nutter, I'm not a nutter because I have at least 23 TV in the house and all of them working. I had to order two head sets from Holden as the original were stolen years ago + order a remote control so the car is original inside and outside this I have plenty of work to keep me busy, my main TV room with 11 tv's need two new box fitted that will replaced other older boxes, on the car side again I had to re paint the 4 door handle in the restored VE Commodore that is very good nic now and registered, It took me 7 days to modify a Series 2 Calais Grill to fit in a series 1 car now that was a challenge that no one has never done before. Look for the Plastic welding as I cut the top of it off then re-weld it now that took time to do it as we know we have plenty of time.
. Never a dull day for Mr 672a I bough this Ve Commodore that was trashed and it took me 6 months to fix it and get it regestered as a Shopping car to replace our Vr Commodore that I had for 24 years, A faithful car that never lets us down.
The Below pic is the new series 2 grille fitted in a series 1 car, yes took a week to do it spaced over 3 weeks.

Never a dull day for me so since we have covid-19 for the weekend I will watch movies until monday when I will start with the Caprice V again and should get my heads sets from Holden to test and watch a Movie whilst I clean the upholstery.

(Plenty of typos but your get the point)
