Motorists pulled over for showing too much haste could expect to be asked by police: "Who do you think you are? Stirling Moss?"
Sir Stirling once revealed he had also been asked the same question by a policeman, "but I couldn't work out if he was taking the mick".
Another motor racing legend gone!
I didn't realise he was still racing until 2011 when he retired from racing all-together at age 81.
Fond memories of watching him racing.

A sad day for motor racing. He is always going to be a legend that is most likely going to continue to grow as the years roll by.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
I remember the disappointment of the start of the 1976 Bathurst race when the Brabham/Moss car, the 10th qualifier, stalled on the line and was rear ended. They repaired it, and it circulated for a while right near the pace until the engine blew.
