It has been 45 Days (and 12hours) since Thala Dan has logged in.

I was concerned around the Summer Fires time, but seems we got passed that and into the Corona Virus, a thread which he started

    Anyone heard from him?
He can't be off Trout Fishing, he isn't allowed?

Just a little bit concerned and miss his input.
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

There is an old guy on YT I became good online friends with. Real nice guy who was very supportive through some real bad times. I haven't seen any vids for months and he hasn't answered my emails.

Been playing on my mind a bit and no one seems to know what happened to him.

Funny how we can be so " connected" these days but still so distant.

It's always a concern when a member drops off the map. It would be good if we could advise our loved ones that, should anything untoward happen, "please post a note on our various forums".

I've commented elsewhere, that when this COVID is over we should all have a meet and greet in our various geographical locales. We may form new and lasting friendships IRL and, at least get an idea of our fellow "team members" here.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I just went back over some PM's from 2016 when i bought a heap of fishing lures from Thala Dan
I thought we exchanged mobile numbers or an email address, but we have conducted all business via Austech PM's

So sadly no leads there either

Hopefully he just had enough and has taken a break
Or his is suffering internet problems

Actually, i should have banking details....

I think bank details gave his full name, so its a starting point at least

I'd do that but the news of my demise may cause people to become deaf from all the cheering.

When the Veg oil scene was a thing and people were interested in it, I organised a couple of get togethers at Picnic grounds. I bought a burner so we could have a veg oil fired BBQ, brought a veg oil fired generator and ran some fans and Music as well as an Urn for tea and coffee and others bought various Contraptions and equipment for show and tell.

Had a LOT of people turn up and friendships were formed that I still have 15+ years later even though a lot of people have moved onto other interests.
There are a few tricks to making them successful but they can work really well.

    Learjet?
If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

Members can drop off for many reasons.

Lets face it, some of us have lots of spare time, some good convos and learning/sharing knowledge here.

Occasionally a change in situation can draw you away to where time needs to be spent....

Have you had any success in funding his real name?

If so, it makes it a lot easier to start searching for news of him on-line via newspaper accident, funeral notices etc.

If you find that you are pushing uphill for time, send his details (full name) to me via PM and I'll see what I can do, as I have plenty of time on my hands.

You waiting for us to notice you are being distant OB.
I see you check in, but you don't post. Your choice.
