    Default computer speakers.....

I'm sick of the crappy quality of even expensive brand name 2.1 computer speakers......

Like many people, i have quite a few electrical bits and pieces floating around, including a spare 10" powered home theater sub with analog only inputs.

So I thought i would buy a small sound bar and use it as my computer speaker with the aforementioned sub adding a bit of extra grunt.

Most soundbars these days come with a wireless sub, even the cheaper ones, but i needed a soundbar with analogue sub output.

Not easy to find these days.

However Bing lee had this for $199 - Yamaha - ATS-1080 Black - 2.1Ch Soundbar System

comes with 'subwoofer' built in, but with an analogue sub out with volume control on the remote.
also 2.5mm analogue in, bluetooth streaming (with bluetooth standby mode),hdmi and hdmi arc, perfect.......

It turned up this morning, very impressive for the money. Integrates perfectly with a pc and analogue sub, sounds better with the same music source than my $1500 LG atmos soundbar and sub.
That's the problem with surround systems, they very rarely sound good with music.

as a pc speaker system, excellent value for money, even without an external sub.

I've had a Yamaha YAS-152 for about 4 years now and the thing hasn't ever missed a beat. Its an older model without any HDMI, but has BT, SPDIF, RCA & 3.5mm. It came with an internal Sub, and an analogue out for Sub as well. The Yamaha's a great units for the price. It doesn't really compare to the HK N-950 for surround... but for a Sound bar, that Yamaha really holds it's own. The unit absolutely pumps!
