    Default Faulty alarm sensor

I have a 20yr old DAS DL150 alarm system which is functioning but has one sensor constantly activated.
While I can exclude the zone and arm the system I would prefer to have a fully functional alarm.
Is there any way to determine definitively if the sensor is indeed faulty and needs to be replaced before calling out a serviceman?
I am not electronically adept but willing to explore possibilities.
    Thanks in advance

Well it's generally either the cable (eg. mice eaten it or damaged) or sensor which I assume will be 20 years old as well. New sensors will be a lot better then they were 20 years ago.

The cost of a replacement sensor will be way less than you calling a service tech.
Just be sure to power down the system before you start disconnecting cables from within the detector.
You can check the cable is ok by just having the resistor across the end of the cable. If it does not fault then it should be ok.
Take photos of the connections before you start pulling things apart.

    Best of luck
