Default Picked up my next project!

This piccie is as close to my bike as you can get.

I actually purchased it from an acquaintance who I'd known for many years, though I did not know he even had a bike. Another friend knew I was looking and said that he was selling one, so I went and looked. Travelled over 200 miles Friday to check it out, register it and pay for it. A friend who happens to live in the same town as he, was coming to lunch Sat so I bummed a ride back there to collect it. Despite being 13years old, the bike only has 7k on the clock and looks brand new.

When we were preparing it for the ride home we had two bolts left over. My comment was, "If you haven't got stuff left over from a job, you're doing it wrong!" I found out where they came from on the way home. A bloke pulled me over to tell me that the number plate had fallen off! I then spent the next 20 minutes riding up and down a 10km stretch of road looking for it! I did find it on my second loop. Time I got home, I did not realise how cold I was until I lit the fire to warm my frozen fingers. I hadn't found my motor bike gloves before I left, so rode home without gloves. Once my pinkies were thawed out, I started shivering! Anyway, my plan is to hit the road in the near future so if I disappear for days on end, you know where I'm not!

When COVID settles, my plan is to load myself with a guitar on my back and the late missus on the back for a final ride. We spent a lot of our early marriage with the pair of us on a trail bike and a guitar between us. I intend to spread her ashes over the rocks at Nightcliff beach in Darwin where we spent many hours planning our future together.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Thanks mate, I'll let you know when I'm heading north! Will be up there some time, I've friends all up and down the coast from Goldie right through to Cairns. Got a daughter in Brisvegas and a brother in Cairns. I might even move there in the future.

I'm planning on heading west, just not sure when, so I'll make a note to come see you. For now, I've got to find my boots and gloves, they are somewhere here, but haven't seen them in months.
My first project is to get leathers and wet weather gear. Then sort out panniers and other packs.
