    Hi

    I have SQLite EPG working fine to a point. It works for about an hour and then after that i have lost all my data and then have only 'now & next'.

    Also, some channels appear to be properly populated while others have only some of the data in it. Due to it being the same channels, i'm of the opinion that it is only downloading that amount of data from the website.

    Any help on getting my data to stay put would be appreciated. I have disabled EEPG but it didn't make any difference.

    Cheers

    what sort of box marney ?
    is it on local hard drive or network share
    if it network share is it smb, cifs or nfs ?
    If in doubt about what data is coming through - go back to previous post about entering oztixo url in browser

    Hi

    The box i'm using is a Relook 400s running PLI Helenite that has been adapted to use on a Relook. Now before everyone starts shouting at me it operating exactly like a dreambox and i have always found a workaround with everything else before.

    The EPG is going on the Relooks local drive (WD250GB). I've got data coming through and on certain channels it's fine but other channels it's lacking.

    I'm not sure about setting up network shares or even how i would do that.

    Cheers
    Marney

    ok - if it is on a local drive and not on a share then that rules out problems with the mounting of network file shares (cifs, smb, nfs etc)

    The only time mine went missing was when my mounted external share went missing - so had to ask

    So go back and try this
    remember to replace with your username and password
    - save the xml file - see what info is in the file - is the EPG missing stuff in the file
    - check your time offset stuff - make sure you are downloading info for the right days and time - again look in the xml file - remember they are UTC times in there

    - next check your channel mapping file xmltv_au.dat - how many are showing UNKNOWN - IS this the info that is missing?

    Hi

    After putting my username and password in i get this message - 'Firefox can't find the server at minnie.tuhs...l.'

    I FTP to the '/hdd/sqlite/' and i found an xml document that seemed to have all the info in it but it doesn't seem to be getting converted by the database.

    Don't know what to try next!!!

    htXp://UserNameassword@minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/xmlguide.pl?daynum=13916
    use the full url - not what is shown in here
    what about your .dat file ?

    Still won't work and i changed 'htXp://' to 'http://' - not sure what's wrong there.

    I deleted all the data from the dat file and ftp it back to the Relook. I then re-mapped everything but it's still the same.

    ok misread this before ..
    if you do have the xml file arriving - then I guess it is not an oztivo problem
    check in the xml file - make sure the date and times look like teh match the name of the file tv-20080207.xml - should have 7 feb stuff (bearin mind UTC offset)
    if it does then run your script from telnet again and watch for errors after the download.
    How many days do you have set in the xmltv_au.cfg file ?
    set to 3 is probably best

    failing this without delving into your machine I am at a loss mate

    Hi

    Thanks for your help by the way, i have just telneted (./xmltv_au.sh) and it downloads and there doesn't appear to be any errors but when i ftp to the Relook i can't seem to find a xml file anymore.

    When i download the data via the plugin it's the same.

    Where does the xml file go or does it get converted straight away?

    Cheers

    one of the last lines in the script is to
    rm $datadir/$datefile
    which deletes the script
    quote that line out with a # if you want the xml file to hang about

    Hi

    The EPG seems to be a day out. I FTP and opened up tv-20080207.xml and the first entry on FS1 is as follows:

    <programme start="20080206130000" stop="20080206153000" channel="FS1">
    <title>American Football</title>

    I take it the 20080206130000" is starting on the 06/02/2008 at 1300 hours.

    and it finishes at 1530 hours.

    Is this right - if so how do i get that right?

    Cheers

    nope that could be right - cos those times are UTC
    so plus 11:00hours or 39600 seconds is your offset ?

    NFNovice

    Is this right (i'm in W.A) I've changed the script:

    name=OZtivo XmlTv Au
    command=/var/bin/xmltv_au.sh
    mapfile=xmltv_au.dat
    options=
    type=xmltv
    numOfDays=3
    timeOffset=39600
    use_cron=true
    epgLocation=/hdd/sqlite/epg.db

    or does it go in the config:

    #Some default values, to make sure they are set..
    hours=24
    timeOffset=39600
    numofdays=3

    I've put it in both????

    Cheers

    what goes in the config is what you see from the plugin
    if you put other stuff in there it gets removed when you use the plugin
    in the plugin you put in hours - behind teh scenes it converts to secs
    so in the config file you see ..
    39600 = 11 x 60 x 60 or 11 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds
    in Western australia what is your offset to gmt ?
    I think Perth is GMT +8
    so timeoffset = 28,800 (8x 60 x 60) or just 8 in the plugin
    also make sure you have the right timezone set in settings on the dreambox

    you'll need an updated grabber soon to get the xmltv as oztivo are changing the site to lower the overall bandwidth used by gzipping individual channel data into seperate files

    "The xmlguide.pl service will be discontinued on March 31, 2008. Please ask the author of your XML data grabber to update it to use the new API. Details can be found at http://minnie.tuhs.org/xmltv/api.html"

    regards...

    well bugger .. - i better get busy then
    when I started this I firsted tested a script which stepped through the channel file and downloaded all info for each channel
    now the theory seems to be heading to one channel - one day for each download - with a 2 second gap between downloads
    will slow down the overall process - but should be doable
    will keep in touch..

    nfnovice, you are doing a great job. There are so many of us here that would like a decent EPG. If you ever get the time and sort things out a tut or similar would be very helpful to many on this forum. Hope this doesn't offend you. Thanks for all your input.
