check that the file hasnt turned dos format on you
and also that permissions are good
try
cd /var/bin
dos2unix xmltv_au.sh
chmod 755 xmltv_au.sh
then try to run again
has anyone been abel to get this working in a dm500s. im using external cifs mount
each time i run that command i get1/ No matter what i do i can't run it in telnet, comes up with this-
: not foundsh: 8:
: not foundsh: 13:
expr: non-numeric argument
: not foundsh: 18:
: not foundsh: 21:
: not foundsh: 26:
: not foundsh: 31:
./xmltv_au.sh: 31: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "in")
and i have transfered the files as binary
check that the file hasnt turned dos format on you
and also that permissions are good
try
cd /var/bin
dos2unix xmltv_au.sh
chmod 755 xmltv_au.sh
then try to run again
oh yeah and same for the xmltv_au.cfg file
dos2unix xmltv_au.cfg
just out of interest - did yopu grab your files from the first post or third post ?
first post had that problem - you cant edit posts here to fix though
mate that fixed the problem. thankyou.
i have noticed however that, i think my channel mappings are correct, that it doesnt populate the channels properly.
by that i mean, the movie channels look ok for a while, and then there are massive gaps between movies. this is more evident in the other channels.
what could be the cause of this?>
I had the same problem, the only channel that populated properly was 'W' - fat lot of good that was - could've been the fox sports channels.
It didn't matter cause about after about an hour i would lose all my data.
Nfnovice was a great help but i think it has to do with my box (relook 400s).
Cheers
I also had this occur twice, first time selecting anything from the web interface would hard lock the box, and the next time the box wouldn't even boot (each time you could hear the hdd seeking)....had to flash the box both times. I couldn't work out what i had done wrong ended up setting the default dir to /lib/sqlite....
If anyone else is having problems with incorrect times, remember day light savings.
I'm in SA GMT+9.5 hrs or 34,200s, and i had to change my offset to +10.5hrs/37,800s for the epg to work properly.
nfnovice, when playing around with the epg, after changing the offset and running the download, many times the epg would either not change (as in the shows would stay with their old offsets), or it would fail to populate. Is there a file i can clear/delete which would help this when fiddling around?
The epg is unbelievable, i just set all the shows i want to record from the full epg and it's as easy as that....although, i am a little surprised how many incorrect entries there are.
Thanks, RHCP.
Democracy: Three wolves and a sheep voting on what's for lunch.
g'day rhcp
the file is epg.db
the only way I managed to clear EPG it is
set path in web interface to another location
reboot delete old epg.db
reset web interface location back to normal and reboot again
then you have a mostly empty epg.db
might be a restart of enigma is enough rather than full reboot
the incorrect entries I got before I set my timezone right - after that the main one I get is double up in the now next area -
Im thinking its one from oztivo/epg plugin and the other from satellite now / next feed.
any chance of a screen dump of what the epg looks like, as i found the time to flash 500 to iokite and thinking of using this epg instead of mv?
tv channel epg
tv multi epg
webif one channel epg
web if multichannel - a jpg does not do justice to .. think big
cheers
not as nice looking as mv in multi epg imho but think i'll give it a go just so i dont have to use epgcenter again cheers nfo
ps... i tried to do what u did with the script but could not find where i should insert the login to oztivo... nice job matey.
does mv show full epg from the webif as well as from TV?
I like that either webif or tv - point at a show hit record ok and you got it on timer.
out of interest - I just loaded up mv from yellow button - and I could see full epg in there
so you can load my way and read your way - I guess
in my scripts you enter the username and password up high in the xmltv_au.sh
# oztivo UserName and Password are case sensitive
user=UserNameassword
Use code tags instead of quote tags to stop the smiley formats.
Code:# oztivo UserName and Password are case sensitive user=UserName:Password
By reading this, you have already given me control over a tiny slice of your mind
sorry I must not have been to clear, what I meant was I tried to modify wolf's script like you did, but when I was doing it I could not figure out WHERE in his script I should put the login to oztivo site and gave up and wrote my own. no where near as good as this but did the job to meet my needs...
I am just flashing the 500 again and doing a fresh install off all the stuff again.
from memory MV showed up all the EPG in webif, i never really use webif i really only use multi epg and just hit green to either switch to or record from channel...
i did like the fact that MV allowed you to add favorite shows which showed up as yellow (also had a 5?? minute pop up to remind you) never really use this to full effect but it might be handy if you had your EPG dialed in correctly
edit: I am still at a lose as to why noone has written a converter from one format to the other which would do what epgcenter does, its been several years since i coded but ffs some young gun out there should be able to knock one up in like 1 day all your doing is stripping away crap from the .xmltv file and re-arranging it into abrev form..... where are all the coders out there.....

I have a dm500 and when I run in telnet I get about 20 "SQL error: no such table: epgcache"
Must be doing something wrong
then the errors/var/bin/db_epg -t xmltv -d /media/hdd/epg/epg.db -f /media/hdd/epg/tv-20080218.
xml -o 39600 -h 24 -m /var/tuxbox/config/dbepg/xmltv_au.dat -g /var/tuxbox/confi
g/dbepg/genre.dat -e -c 1
Setting encoding to ISO-8859-1
If I delete everything xmltv_au.dat file I don't get that error..But when I setup mapping the errors start again
Would mapping my unknowns to channels listed on the right (though belonging to a bouquet) not work?
I do this and I just dont get the epg filtering through either on TV or Full epg on the web.
Telnetting and running xmltv_au.sh it works through, downloads the data from oztivo which ends up being a 350kb epg.db (only working with 1 day)
Starting with a blank xmltv_au.dat I get all my unknowns displaying (although some are missing).
I rem'd out the coding in xmltv_au.sh which deletes the downloaded xml file so I can check it. All the data is in there...maybe not lined up correctly bu its there and about 850Kb.
Using an offset of 11 hours.
Dont know how much effort I should put in seeing it will change in March...but still would like to clock this epg thing as its doing my head in now.
Thanks
that sounds exactly where your up to Plantagenet
mapping unknowns to channels on the right
I seem to recall that after mapping you needed one more run of the script to get epg..
Yeah I've followed this thread religiously and have rebooted, re-run the script but all I get is now and next.
I I have re-flashed to iolite 08 and tried from scratch.....bah same same.
What I do to start with a fresh epg.db is manually delete it from my share and choose Enigma EPG from the epg settings under system settings.
Reboot then choose SQL Lite under epg settings. This recreates the epg.db file for me....
Is this right or?
Simply creating a txt file and renaming it to epg.db doesnt work. xmltv_au.sh doesnt like it.
definetely dont create a text file and rename it.. that would not be right
let the dreambox create the epg.db for you like you said enigma EPG then back to Sql Lite
so have you looked at the .dat file before mapping it should have lots of unknown like this
after mapping it should look like thisCode:UNKNOWN=AUR UNKNOWN=BBC UNKNOWN=BLM UNKNOWN=BOOM
if the mapping isnt working then epg will never beCode:3ea:1000:1=SHOW 3a9a:1000:f=SHW2 fab:1000:4=SHWC 7da:1000:2=SHWGRTS
remember this is the xmltv_au.dat not the epg.db file !!
