Ok here is oztivo scripts for epg sqlite plugin under pli
It has been tested to work on external mount for dm5620
or internal hard drive on DM7000 - happy to hear from a dm500 owner who cracks these.
The prerequisites are
1. pli image (helenite or later - preferably iolite)
2. epg set to sqlite under settings
3. sqllite epg plugin downloaded
Attached file should go in your dbox /tmp directory and then manual install.
after install xmltv_au then make changes to
/var/bin/xmltv_au.sh
- put your oztivo user name and password
- change your epg.db location directory
/var/tuxbox/config/dbepg/xmltv_au.cfg
- change your time zone (offset seconds)
- change your epg.db location directory
- change number of days (oztivo is best for 3 - but up to 6 on some)
remember oztivo username and password are case sensitive
chmod 755 xmltv_au.sh (in case I forgot when I made tar.gz)
epg location can be found under webif/boxcontrol/settings down the bottom under EPG cache path (see SQLIte store)
I still recommend running this from telnet
then watch the outputcd /var/bin
./xmltv_au.sh
if it works there test it with using yellow button / sqlite epg plugin
if it works there - then setup to use cron - middle of the night
I have included a channel mapping file - although I dont know how personal these are - like whether they are tied to my bouquets or not. your mileage may vary here.
Happy to hear feedback

in the above tar.gz somehow the config file got windows formatted which gives a syntax error
should be better in this one
anyway to get this to work with gemini 4.20
Thanks for taking the time to write that up nfnovice - really appreciated.
I have done all you have stated in the post.
Issues:
1/ No matter what i do i can't run it in telnet, comes up with this-
: not foundsh: 8:
: not foundsh: 13:
expr: non-numeric argument
: not foundsh: 18:
: not foundsh: 21:
: not foundsh: 26:
: not foundsh: 31:
./xmltv_au.sh: 31: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "in")
2/ When i have done the mapping it doesn't retrieve anything, just flashes up on the screenquickly then disappears.
Do you know what is going wrong in telnet, i tried al sorts of combinations to try and get it running.
Cheers
Marney
Hi
Well i finally got it working, the problem was with FileZilla.
It was set on Auto Detect, i changed it to binary and off it went like a charm.
Edited the scripts like nfnovice stated in the post and it all works beautifully.
NFNovice - Thanks so much for posting that, i was a mile off.
Cheers
Marney
when I run xmltv_au.sh through telnet I get...
using timeoffset of 39600 seconds
retrieving 72 hours of data for each channel
converter var/bin/db_epg not found
where should I find or locate db_epg? Its not in var/bin?
just re-installed sql lite 1.1 that fixed it
the db_epg comes with the sqllite epg config plugin
How does your epg look Plantagenet ?
Not the best at the moment.
Sleep got the better of me last night so had to put it on hold.
What I am getting now is Pli reboot when I access the epg for a channel.
I've stuffed around with xmltv_au.dat which is why this has started happening.
Question though, if I want to start re-mapping my channels from scratch do I manually clear out xmltv_au.dat and then ftp back to dm or do I render all channels as unknown through the DM menu screen and then start from there?
Otherwise all the prelim stuff works great, top script. I played around with xmltv_au before the crash as there was a detailed thread, but I dont think it was for Pli and therefore didnt work at all.
Thanks thus far.
clear out the .dat file to empty file
when you run the script it should recreate channels with unknown or notmapped settings
then do your mapings through plugin screen
I seem to recall you had to rerun script after mapings for epg to be loaded
just a hint - drop back to 1 or 2 days till it goes - then increase up to 3 days
so it doesnt format the .dat into some windows format?
I'll give it a go when I get home...thanks again nfnovice getting rid of EPG center
Thanks for the work nfnovice! The EPG is what makes a good system.
I've done something wrong
I've installed and modified the files.
I can download from telnet and from yellow > Dreambox EPG config > Retrieve.
I've noticed that when i select 'cron' and exit and go back into the plugin, cron is unticked....am i meant to change it in the .cfg file?
How do you check the epg? Just go to the channel list press info and select epg? If so, External EPG just drops me back to the channel list, while Multi EPG just shows 'now & next'.
My epg dir is /media/hdd

Seems like 2 issues there rhcp
first cron - make sure under settings/servicestorun that "start crond" is ticked
have a look at ps from telnet -- see if a crond entry is in the list
once you get epg - you can set cron from telnet
on EPG - when I press info I get 3 choices
- external drops back to channel list,
- Multiepg should show full epg,
- channel epg should show epg for channel you are on.
but all channels epg is also there in webif
If the download looks like it works ok - how big does the file look when it comes through in telnet - should be about 1mb depending on your choices in oztivo
next things to check would be
- login to to your oztivo account with web - and make sure you get the xmltv channel list back - (no data here - no epg will come thru)
- next blow away contents of your xmltv_au.dat (channel mapping file)
- then run the download
- then have a look in the xmltv_au.dat
- it should have all your chosen channels marked as :unknown. -
- if it does then head to yellow/epg config and do the channel mapping thing in there. note you have to run download after mapping for it to go ahead.
good luck mate
The epoxy i used to attach a heatsink to my dream processor has cured, so it's time to have another play
Is that from the tv-screen? If so, i only have 1 option; "start firewall", there is no crond.
"/usr/sbin/crond -c /etc/cron/crontabs" process exists (which is sleeping). I read that crond starts automatically on PLI 70XX images.
epg.db is about 770 KB
Sorry, i have 3 as well
I have no idea what this means, the oztivo wiki is a bit confusing. Do i have to actually set something up on that site (other than registering)? This could be the issue, but it seems the epg.db is filling with data.
After deleting the the contents (or deleting the file) the contents remain completely empty! I'm sure this means something, but i don't know what.
Thanks for the help, RHCP.

1. set preferences for xml style download
2. choose your channels
login here - and go to set user preferences down the bottom - its clunky but works
after this - to test go to browser and put in
ht*p://UserName:password@minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/xmlguide.pl?daynum=13912
you should get a xml list of chanels and epg - thats what the script needs to receive.
The empty channel file is probably an indication that you have nothing coming through.
You are close I reckon
you got the hard stuff now the easier stuff
Cheers for the help nfnovice. Working a treat now
Thanks, RHCP.

cheers - well done RHCP
the last issue you had was cron
I think your right cron does run automatic on some boxes..
I hope you cracked that too - cos - then it is just set and forget..
