Default Looong range Cordless Phone Reccomendations.

Fathers Engineous Cordless phone has shit itself.
Replacements are exy and hard to come by.
Can anyone recommend another long range Cordless ( 1Km+) Phone make/ Model?

I see there are a few unidens now but not sure of the range. In actual fact he only needs about 500M range but there is a bit of a hill in the middle which would cut down working distance. The engenious works Fine down to the end of the road, 1200M away with a bigger hill between.

If there is a Cheaper, easier to aquire alternative I'd be interested to hear suggestions.

    Thanks.

George, you need to look for DECT 6.0 cordless phones with 900MHz frequency to get the range you are after. Look for EnGenious name - it could be pricey though.

The literature says it " Can" be up to 3 KM range open country, line of sight.
Dad believes it given he's driven down the road with it in his pocket a couple of KM at least and it rang. No problem with it anywhere on the 10 acres here.

Was handy when he found the neighbour collapsed in the back paddock a few years back and rang the ambulance. Mobile is useless down there.

All the best, George, I was unaware of cordless phones with that sort of range, but it is not impossible.

Have a look at the link that fromaron posted, up to 10km range.
    Cheers, Tiny

I did read that, that was why I said, I was unaware of such devices. Anyway, BOT, let us know how you get on George. This might be useful.
