Update/upgrade or change email client would be my suggestion relative to win10
I run windows 10 and use MS Outlook 2007 as my email program. In recent times Outlook won't close down from time to time. I tried resetting, going in to task manager and 'ending task', but no luck. I know Outlook 2007 is a bit old and not upgraded anymore, but would still like to keep using it if possible. Any Suggestions. Brian DJ

I use the free mozilla Thunderbird client, it works well for my needs.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
same here, I run Thunderbird on Debian and WES7, its identical on both platforms , profiles are transportable, its stable and works very well.
And it does not remind me of Bill Gates every time I use it. But its worth a look to see if it suits you if you must change clients.
yeah I've just switched over to Thunderbird, after a bit of customising it does everything I want a mail client to do, when you have multiple email addresses.
Thunderbird also has an import function, so the OP should be able to import his address book, email account settings, etc.

The only reason I use an email client, is to avail myself of the ISP supplied email address aliases ... it's an easy route to a fastly deleteable temporary email address ...(and I don't trust ISP supplied email, because I've been 'postmaster' for ISP mailservers in the 90's and know what can be done =)... but for that, Thunderbird 'coz it's easy to live with and is the defacto client for linux boxen.
The rest of the time, I used web based mail (gmail, hotmail, gmx etc) because I don't trust ISP supplied email services =)
Might be ok then, I run gmail on it with pop3. I think it duplex ssh now. Its the only thing google that can get dns and access the firewall here They can scan it in their server but they gain nothing. Having been an admin you know the possibility's they all have.
Not Imap or anything fancy. None is secure anyway, BB and his 5 eyes mates has full access to everything any way so there bound to be a hack a swell I guess.

Nor is windows (just like 7up), nor is OSX (fanta =)Linux isn't for everyone, just like koolaide isn't either ....
Back to topic tho', OP shouldn't run outlook 2007 in any case ~ and as far as M$ are concerned, nobody should be running it anymore, anywhere...nobody. They want you to buy latest&greatest, next year they'll do the same...and the year after that, etc etc.
You get this though ~ people who've become so accustomed to one program, they will do anything to be able to keep using it, because they don't want to/can't change their ways.
The answer to that issue, is not software ~ it's wetware (one's brain) ; you have to move with the times, that's the way it is. Once you know how to use an email client, they're all pretty much the same.
Thunderbird client here too.. although the Import function did give me issues at first.
