Default How can I extend alarm remote receiver aerial?

My bosch alarm is mounted inside and im trying to run the aerial outside to extend the range of the remote. The aerial is currently what apears to be a solid piece of aluminium. I've tried putting a wire in its place that runs outside, and ive also tried the wire with the aerial attaches to the end of the wire. Neither of these methods worked.

    Any other ideas?

You could try a 433mhz antenna. Ebay or somewhere will have them. Never tried one myself on that alarm, but they fairly cheap.

On one of the car alarm systems that had 433mhz remotes I used to fit I found making the antenna shorter made a bigger difference that lengthening it.

Maybe move the 3G antenna further away from the 433 antenna.
I don't know if taking the 433 module out of the panel and extending the cable to the location more suited for where you want the coverage would work and put the module in a plastic enclosure.

What's the orange coloured item do?

Antenna length is determined by the frequency for otimal reception so extending it won't work. Best bet is to find another antenna of the same frequency or relocating the receiver.

As secure said also try relocating the other antenna As it maybe causing interference

Ok great ill try moving the 3g aerial away, if that doesn't work ill a 433mhz aerial and if that doesn't work ill try and move the module out closer to where I need the remote to work.

I guess I could also play with the length of the current aerial.

Hopefully one of these ideas work.

The orange box is a small phone connected to the dialler for when I was testing the it.

dont be a dumbass look to the theory = 300 over the frequency in mhz equals the wave length so to get a quarter wave divide by four you need to double the power to get half the distance IE 3Db = twice the power ebay has colinear antennas for about 12$ nagoya but you have to get someone to tune to to the frequency if you dont have the gear to do it guessing and hope wont do diddley squat
