    Default Camera reliability

I used to have a Nuvico system consisting of dvr, fixed cameras, and ptz. The cameras were ridiculously unreliable, so now that I知 considering a new system I知 wondering if anyone can share their experiences with other brands?

What sort of cabling system do you have? Data cable for IP cameras or Coax cable?
As you said DVR, guessing coax cabled cameras.
Look at going Hikvision TVI system.

Yes, coax and power cable, but I値l be installing IP cameras and nvr. I have been looking at the Hikvision range, but I知 thinking Korean or German made cameras might be better quality?

I think Hikvision and Dahua are maybe the industry leaders. I have 12 Hikvision camera's, 11 fixed and 1 pan, tilt and zoom and the Hikvision NVR. No problems whatsoever in the 3 years I have had them. I can view my camera's output from my phone and the image is crystal clear. I can control the PTZ also from my phone. Camera and NVR technology changes constantly.

    some questions for honeybadger

is this for a commercial or domestic ?
how often would you need to look at footage?
    how many cameras?
would you want to add more cameras?
how long would you like to keep the recorded footage?

    Hi Secure 2

Domestic use, six cameras initially but expandable to eight. Footage to be kept for at least 3 months. There will be a server on the same network which could be used for backup.
