OK I removed the heatsink and the cleaned and replaced the old heat transfer material. On reassembly all is working OK, only time will tell. I hope it keeps going, stocks of suitable replacement TV's are getting scarce on the Sunny Coast

No pics, I forgot. The paste had dried out and the area was dusty. I cleaned it up with IPA, a smear of heatsink paste and reassembled. The problem has not reoccured and last night we watched FTA via the TV tuner, a saved file on the Beyonwiz and a bluray. All faultless. Thanks again for your help.

Gees I would have taken that board to the shed and hit it with compressed air. I hope you did.
I find turps the best at removing old heatsink compound.
