Can you log in to the ip address of the camera and turn on security?
Just purchased zosi znd350w2-au
All works fine but it doesnt ask for a username or password so I gather anyone within wireless range can connect to the Onvif stream ???
Using Onvif Device Manager it detects the camera and live video is freely available.
Can anyone recommend something similar that is protected ?
thanks thomo

I found that in the quick-start guide for the device ; that gives me the impression this is an IoT device, secured by a cloud network...only available in Vietnam (authentication between cloud-server <-> app <-> phone)
Going by their documentation (which is sparse), the DVR/NVR is supposed to handle any user authentication, not the camera.
That has me call it IoT, which is inherently insecure most of the time ; the device was made for the Vietnamese marketplace, it's not a 'global' product.
In theory (at least), it seems the camera is configurable to a single IP, and once that setup is complete, you need to manually reset the device if you want to change/reconfig the network interface.
It would also seem (from what I've read) they make use of ActiveX, so you may as well not have security if that's employed (and likely only works in Windows running IE) ; ActiveX isn't all that secure.
This Zosi stuff seems aimed at household monitoring, not at security ..have a quick browse of the wifi NVR product

Thanks wotnot I dont know how u got the info but it saved me a lot of reading and I would still be in the dark.
It looks like I brought the wrong camera for what I want, I just wanted to mount the camera connect it to my wireless router and view it without making it viewable with my neighbours, etc. eg password protected.
I set it up using the rj45 cable direct to my router but it is still sending the Onvif stream wirelessly and I dont see anywhere to turn that off.
I have contacted zosi but I dont think that will help.
No problems - I suppose you could detach the wifi antennas, which would limit the wifi range significantly.

I thought I had done my homework, I just thought all the cameras were password protected.
Im now looking at this one
It does say Security : Password Protected.
I have a mate who lives on 10 acres and was looking for a camera so I doubt if his neighbours will be close enough to get a signal.
Thanks again for your help
cheers thomo
