    Default FTA Radio channels

    Hi guys

I have a healing receiver. The receiver is connected to a dish which is aimed at the same dish as foxtel, which I also have connected. I have scanned channels in which are mostly Foxtel or Vast encrypted channels. But shouldI be getting more clear not encrypted radio stations on the box as I have read somewhere that they can receive clear stations. I just get stations with a dollar icon. Or is it just a case of just going to purchase a vast box? Or do need to repoint dish. Or scan in more satellites or transponders. Sorry about this this is my first satellite receive

You should be able to receive the ABC radio channels FTA.

VAST gives you SBS radio as well, but IMHO it's not worth buying a VAST decoder just for that.

Yes do you mean fta through the Terrestrial connection or satellite. I just thought through satellite I would get the ABC radio channels without encryption. Or could the dish be aimed at a different satellite to get them.

Unless it's changed (which is possible) you should be able to receive un-encrypted ABC radio via satellite 12177 V.

You can certainly receive SBS and ABC radio on VAST.

ABC ceased their radio services on Optus 12177V around the same time they began transmitting them on terrestrial FTA. A year or two ago now.

I went to the lyngsat link but where is the frequency of that transponder. It is not listed in that link. Or do I need a cband dish or if it it on ku band and the dish needs to be repointed.

12295 V in left-hand column means frequency 12295 and V means vertical polarity

    12297.6 V likewise.

    The frequencies indicate Ku-band.

The satellite is Optus D2 located at 152 degrees east longitude.

Your VAST dish is aligned to 156 degrees east (Optus D3 and Optus 10 satellites).
