    Default Wireless router Coverage

I have a Netgear D2620 and while it works ok the wireless transmission distance is poor, I have to use a wireless extender to get it 10 meters to the shed.

I noticed recently that my neighbours wireless ( My Republic 436f) connections seems pretty strong (see table) their modem a Technicolor of some sorts is about 80 metres away at least and seems strong compared to mine

My Connections are Falcon 2.5 and 5 Ghz and Thomo_EXT (extender)

Why dont you ask them I hear you say ? because we have had a few runins over the years and dont talk.

Any way Im just looking for recommendations for a new wireless router with decent coverage (I know brick walls etc will have an effect)

    Thanks Thomo

    Install Unifi UAP’s.
At a guess you will need more than 1.
I personally have 4 at my place.

The telstra supplied technicolour and arcadyan modems and extenders work very well.

If the shed is metal, then that will block a lot of signal from ANY wireless router.

Hard-wired ethernet or ethernet over power would be a better solution to get signal into a metal shed.

Yes, they’re awesome. I put a single Unifi AC Pro in the roof cavity and I have coverage pretty much anywhere on my 2+ acre block. Having said that, I am in an area where there is very little interference from other nearby wifi gear.

Download a copy of the free Ekhau Heatmapper app and take a laptop for a walk. You’ll soon see where you have coverage and where you do not.
