    Default EasyOwn G7001 GPS

I was given an EasyOwn G7001 GPS unit that is not functioning, due to corrupted files on the micro SD storage card.

I have been trying to locate a source for the files needed to restore the unit to operating condition, but without results. The Chinese company that made it, and which sells later versions of the unit, claim that they never heard of it!

Has anyone heard of this unit? Where can I find the files to get it working again?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Probably not very popular unit in Australia and the brand doesn't look like very reputable.

Few things came up by using google search:
    1. It is WinCE OS
    2. GPS system - IGO MyWay.
    3. Amazon says it is current - try the seller who sells them at Amazon.

You always can try SD card recovery software but be aware it might make things worse if not careful enough.
If your unit can boot to windows and only iGo resides in the SD card then you should be able to find files for it - again google is your friend.

Otherwise you know the saying - EasyCome/EasyGo. That should be the name of the unit instead of EasyOwn

    Thank you for the information.

Amazon lists the manufacturer, but not the seller. I tracked down the manufacturer's website and found a lot of later model EasyOwn GPS units posted there, but no product support link. I sent an email to the company asking for help, but the respondent claimed that it was not their product! They referred me to another company, but I never heard back from them.

I copied over all the files on the SD card to a file on my laptop. This took hours to do as the transfer rate was extremely slow, indicating a problem with the file structure. I then reformatted the card and reloaded the files, but to no avail!

I will try downloading the software you mentioned and see what happens. If that fails, the little beast is taking a trip to the rubbish bin!
