seeChina’s ambassador to Australia has compared Eric Abetz to Joseph Goebbels, likening the Liberal Senator’s tactics to Nazi propaganda.
Senator Abetz has offended many Chinese Australians by demanding people denounce the Chinese government.
...... Senator Abetz has faced widespread criticism after he called on a number of Chinese-Australian witnesses to the inquiry into the foreign relations legislation to denounce the Chinese Communist Party.
...... During a Senate committee hearing last week, Senator Abetz repeatedly asked witnesses about their attitude to China’s ruling party.
seeBorn in , Abetz emigrated to Australia as a small child, when his father came to work for Tasmania's . He was educated at the and was a barrister and solicitor before entering politics. He is a former national president of the and was state president of the from 1990 to 1994.
........ Eric Abetz's great uncle, , was a Nazi SS officer, German ambassador to Vichy France, and a convicted war criminal.

Sorry to hear about the heart attack, glad you survived.
Age? old enough to know better but young enough not to care.
But the statement by the ambassador confirms my belief that there are plenty of Nazis in the parliament, I think the man got that one right.
My post questioned whether these traits are inhereted, perhaps they are, especially when we see who the man's ancestor's were.
Eric Abetz's great uncle, , was a Nazi SS officer, German ambassador to Vichy France, and a convicted war criminal.
I wonder who Peter Dutton's ancestors were?

If I used ALL the face palm memes, it wouldn't be enough.
You think there are goose stepping, 3rd Reich and Hitler supporters in the parliament?
Geez, you would think they would stand out a bit these days with their Swastikas and the like and someone would have noticed them by now wouldn't you?
You raise this question but If I said a thing about Muslims or black people, You and all the other softcrock bedwetters here would be down my thoat in a second pissing and moaning about it yet you come along questioning if someone's great uncle whom they most likely never met, has the same beliefs/ ideals/ practices and prejudices because they are German and related? Yeah, that's not being a hypocritical racist at all is it? I know bloody well what it IS and what it makes YOU , but I'm not allowed to tell that particular truth here.
What you are ( unbelievably) asking is akin to " I wonder if Jack the ripper and kin of rapists and Kiddy Fiddlers inherit these traits of their family members given they would have the same blood lines?"
IF anyone is stupid and moronic enough to have to even ask that question, then trying to answer it for them would be a complete and utter waste of a rational persons time.

I can recall being slated as a neo-nazi back in the late 70's, because I wore leather to ride bikes, had some friends who were deep into the punk scene back then, owned and played every album by The Stranglers very loud, and had a penchant for girls that looked goth with long legs and doc martens... IRL, it was all mostly fashion, and too much beznedrine & blotter acid (at least locally)
Quite extraordinary, Roger. The CCP acts far more like Nazi's than any member of the Australian Parliament. Much like Antifa, many of whom are more fascist than the fascists. Calling someone a Nazi is no joke, and it reeks of hypocrisy coming from the source it does. I find your support for the Chinese and your defamation of Eric Abetz and other conservative politicians contemptible. If the best you can do to support an allegation that Abetz is a Nazi is to point to his great uncle then you have no case. I support your right to say these silly things. And my own right to point out their idiocy and your own moral bankruptcy in making and supporting such allegations.
The behaviour, speeches and overall demeanour of a number of members of parliament suggests to me a Nazi outlook on life, add Michaelia Cash to my list of Mathias Corman, Eric Abetz and Peter Dutton and you have the Boxed first four.
NazismseeThe majority of scholars identify Nazism in both theory and practice as a form of . Far-right themes in Nazism include the argument that superior people have a right to dominate other people and purge society of supposed inferior elements.

Michaelia Cash, Mathias Corman, Eric Abetz and Peter Dutton, could there be a Prussian link?
see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_PrussiaPrussia is considered the of the unified German Reich (1871–1945) and as such a direct ancestor of today's . The formal , carried out on 25 February 1947 by the fiat of the , referred to an alleged tradition of the kingdom as a bearer of and , and made way for the current setup of the German states.

The intelligence, or lack thereof, of some posters here astounds me! Just because his great uncle was a Nazi doesn't mean that he is, you can't inherit it.
The stupidity of this is mind boggling. Interesting that the people that you have maligned are all liberals.....have you ever read a history book?
It's more likely that nazis would be from the labour party. Any reading of history would tell you that the Nazi party was officially derived from the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP).
Don't see many socialists in the Liberal party do we. Maybe it's in the socialist blood that you should be researching your ridiculous racist fantasies. FFS.

RoggerTheDoger, suggesting wiki is a credible source of information is stupid from the beginning. Wiki is created by anyone who wishes to wright something. In fact you can create your own little page explaining how you see things. That won't make it true though.
Nazi is short of National Socialist party founded and led by Adolf Hitler. They were socialists - workers party like Labor in Australia but with a twist based on people race. Nazis were anti-capitalists proclaiming Germans to be a superior nation and all other nations meant to serve their masters.
From the real meaning of nazi I would say Muslims, BLM followers etc more suited to be called Nazis.
P.S. Enf, you beat me by few minutes.

Nazi's in parliament ? Time to profit from stupidity..
I'm selling stones if anyone is interested.
I have stones with points, flats, rounds and packs of gravel.
The next person to say 'NAZI' will be stoned to death.
Come on! Who threw that? Who threw that stone? Come on.
Stop taking drugs guys and go outside and play footy with your grand kids FFS..

This does seem to be the most widespread view, though personally I think of the Nazi's as being more left-wing. Having said that, I don't think the classification matters very much. Extremes on both sides are characterised by a willingness to resort to violence, intolerance for any other viewpoint and authoritarianism. Far left or far right to me are almost indistinguishable in a practical sense.
See, for example:
I also find Roger's reliance on genetics to attempt to damn someone ironic given the Nazi's own attitude to genetics including of course its eugenics program.
Surprised no one has commented on the Prussian assumption.
Think of the dark ages and the Goths and Vandals. I'm exploring a particular nasty inherited trait of a race of people who caused mayhem throughout Europe in the dark ages, were of Germanic origin came from the location of the later Prussian empire which were characterised by authoritarianism and superiority, which later became the Nazi party of Germany.
We now have authoriatian, superiority espousing individuals in federal parliament some of whom we know have their roots from this group above. I'm wondering if the others do also? They certainly exhibit the same traits.
