    Default Abc2 D1

Hi all, I've pointed an old austar dish to D1 to pick up ABC2 for a neighbor. We live in a remote part of the country so it's only available through Austar in our area which they don't have.Put my humax in an got ABC2 no worries, connected up their UEC put the same setting in but doesn't pick the stations up when i do a scan.Lnb freq is correct .What am i doing wrong? will the uec pick up the channels. i'm using freq 12595 s/r 14294 H 7/8 .It's driving me crazy so any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks

I would suggest a Dual or Quad output LNB.

I can express you a dual for $40 or a quad for $50 for example

Default UEC Its South African for Rubbish

I remember the UEC cant go below a symbol rate of 15000,
Your neighbour should get a Humax .... Make that an Octagon SF 918 stb so they can enjoy ABC HD also.

Out of curiosity if I re arrange my D2 equipment and set up a dual LNB configuration to recieve the D1 D2 birds will I be able to watch all the free Kiwi Channels on D1 Freeview freq. I have checked out Lyngsat and as far as I can see it is showing as an unlocked FTA service. Is this new ? I have never noticed it before.

Been there since D1 went up, and no you can not receive it. The Freeview and Sky NZ transponders are on the NZ only beam.

I would concure with DRYFRY's comment, grab an HD sat STB such as that suggested.

NB; - You can listen to NZ's National Radio on D1, that beam is a dual NZ/AUS. (NZ's ABC Radio Nartional if you like).
