    Default Mediastar HDX 9100 Repair

Any Mediastar HDX 9100 service personnel out there? I have two units exhibiting different faults.

Please do not suggest Mediastar - they do not want to know!!

    Hi,
I don't think I'll be much help, but...

On eBay there's one for sale (fully working I assume), maybe if it's that important to get these two faulty ones working - at least for $120 you might be able to fault trace.

Also on WP; there are a few posts about issues on this box of tricks. Might be one of the issues you are having has been discussed before..?

Sorry can't be of more help.
    Cheers,
    GT250.

that's been on ebay for a while. I'd be putting $ towards a new box.

First thing to do is pull the lid off and check the power supply caps.

I have been out of sat work for a couple of years now. Director, Finance and Planning really liked the EPG on these units. They were replaced with an old DGTEC something that I flashed with Xoro firmware so that it records - a huge problem with the Mediastar!!!!

When it fails - the DGTEC - it will be time to upgrade the TV as well. Something Android based so that I can get rid of the boxes, cables, etc., etc.
