Got the same unit here ~ I believe it gets the time from network? (my clock is on right time, but unit it always network connected) ; the 'time' field in settings is the same here (greyed out)
I bought a cheap Soniq TV (40" F40FV17C-AU) to watch in my bedroom - as a basic TV is fine and has the adavantage of supposedly being a smart tv but only manages to stream Youtube - doesn't have the power for Netflix etc.
The issue that I have is that the time setting in the TV seems to be stuck on GMT time. If I go into the menu and select set time - the relevant box is grayed out and you cannot go into it to change any of the settings.
So looking for suggestions to fix this - thanks.
Oh the TV tells me that its software is up to date and I have reset the TV back to default to see if that fixes things but no luck.
Thanks for advice.

Thanks for that information. I disconnected the TV from the wifi but the TV time stayed on GMT and the menu area was still blanked so not able to set the time even when the tv is standalone.
The main issue is that the EPG is out as it runs off the set time.
Looks like the cheap Chinese TV has a fault.
Thanks

I doubt you'd get much joy there ; discontinued model, multiple threads on the 'net about the same issue, and mine does exactly the same thing here.
TBH, I hadn't actually noticed this on the set before (because) given the limitation of the set itself (it's not a 'true', 'smart' teevee), I was pretty quick to go buy a $40 media box to plug into it, so I typically only see it's screen (I don't watch teevee =) -- this essentially turns it into a 'real' smart TV in effect

I have seen some that have to be left on and going on the network for over 24hrs and then it just corrects its self to the local network time ???

Yes I have to agree - not much point in contacting Soniq. It is a cheap tv that does what I got it for plus it runs YoutuBe pretty well. Would be nice to have the correct time though. It worked when I got it but seemed to loose it and web browser with an update - the Soniq channel and the JBHi channel works OK.
I have connected up youtube so I know it is connected to the web and I will leave it on to see if the right time comes up.
If the Chinese built their military electronics like their tvs, I dont think we will have a lot to worry about in time of conflict.
Thanks for the input

As a suggestion - did you try to configure your router at home to have NTP time server setup?
It is quite common to have routers with this functionality. There are few NTP servers around and it pays to check.
If it is possible I suspect your TV will get the time from your home network.

Thanks for the advice on the modem - not tech savy but I am sure I can follow it when I download the modem handbook.
It is just the standard TPG NBN modem.
Thanks
On this Archer VR1600, it's here (Advanced tab -> System tools -> Time settings ;
