Default AutoCAD Experience - DXF drawing needed for custom timber table top

    Hey everyone,

I am looking for someone with sufficient experience with AuoCAD to put together a drawing, or a few drawings (DXF or DWB file fomat) or a custom table top design.

It's a unique shape - which is why I am going down the path of CNC cutting from a local provider and precisely why I need this drawn up in a specific program and fil; but of course, I need to start with the drawing. I was thinking of popping on Airtasker, but that place is worse than FortKnox to actually find out and uncover any useful information about the person or business who quotes you. So wanted to start here.

If there's any interest here, please reply here or shoot me a PM

    Thanks
    RWS13

there is more to it than just drawing , you will also need to work out
the bit sizes and types depending on the style.

you do not need to design with autocad i use aspire , then with the resulting file i
save to to suit my cutting software ( UCCNC ) so check what cutting software they
use because if you just take then a dxf they will charge to Finnish it of and convert to what
they need whether it is TAP gbrl etc.

because a dxf does not have the vectors mapped and allocated cuts - bits - speed - depth etc

when you say unique shape do you have a picture ?????

i drew one up and sent you a link.

but i also noticed you wanted timers done etc and to be honest i would
not be doing the table till you had them done and have the sizes of the displays
so they could be incorporated into the dxf so they can be cut out or recessed
    all at once.

Ps : i am not interested in designing it i only drew it up because i had a template already.

Also just so you understand a AI, PDF or DXF file is only the outline of the project

This file needs to be imported to another program to set the vectors - cuts etc
and the company cutting it for you needs to do that to match their machines
    capabilities and your requirements.

The other thing is taking into account the size you mentioned 2400 x 1200
the company cutting it would be a decent size because that is a big machine so
expect to pay a pretty penny for it to be done.

you asked for a kidney shaped table with the only specs being the sheet size you will be using
i sent you a dxf file already with it drawn up so i have drawn it again with the sizes.

as i said a dxf etc is only the outline the rest is done by who ever is cutting because
every machine requires different settings and this is also dependent on the material
    being used.

A prime example is i have 2 setups and the cutting file for each is different
one uses the tap file the other uses a txt file. so if you bought the dxf to me
i would need to do the settings for which ever machine i use.

As fandtm666 outlined you need to do a bit more planning, and perhaps a hand drawn diagram with timer locations and sizes etc to proceed further.

I have 2 custom built ones i made , the first was my protype then with the
second one knew what to upgrade and modify to get it to be able to also do
aluminium machining. I did learn quickly that you need a good water cooling setup
or you will fry the bearings in the spindle quick.

1 unit has a musso setup the other a AXBB-E controller .but new 100w 1000x600 laser cutter
is taking my time up learning
