Hi, Just back from a camping trip, and I was able to aim and watch VAST, and also tuned D2 (DUNA TV, ESRITV, a bunch or religious channels, K-Mart Radio, etc).
Then I tried D1, but no cigar.
The sat meter didn’t have any profile for D1, so I made one with 3 transponders I found currently on Lyngsat:
12456 H 22500 (Freeview)
12470 H 47300 (ABC Queensland)
12519 H 22500 (Sky New Zealand)
Could anyone verify these are still correct?
I have a 75cm dish, and not sure it’s big enough, and also not sure trees were in the way at the bearing for D1 either.
Being sure of correct settings would be a good start for the next trip though.
Cheers
12456 H 22500 (Freeview) and 12519 H 22500 (Sky New Zealand) are both New Zealand beams only.
You will not receive them in Australia. Assuming that's where you were camping.
12470 H 47300 is working.
Does your meter/decoder operate on this type of encoding?
DVB-S2 multistream
stream 126 47300-3/4
16APSK
A 75cm dish will be way too small, as these signals are not intended for direct reception, but for terrestrial re-transmission sites.
Having trees in a signal path will block/interfere with signals from any satellite.
Hi, I was going by this page:
but suppose I programmed in the wrong transponders.
This isn’t something I’ll try from home.
I have a Foxtel dish with dual LNB, and a socket in my room from where one of their boxes once was, so VAST works at home.
At the time I was set up in Border Ranges National Park. There are gaps in tree canopy, which dictates the site that I choose.
I watched Melbourne Cup from there years ago, and remember the specific site, so knew VAST would be ok.
