    Default Jenny D'Ubios fringe scientist?

Trapped under quarantine and ravaged by allergies in a Perth hotel room, Jenny D'Ubios slid into an internet vortex of conspiracy theories in the week before her Boxing Day escape.
The self-described "fringe scientist" shared with her Facebook followers articles about the dangers of 5G, a post by an anti-fluoride group that suggested coronavirus was a hoax, a video about the COVID-19 test (which was blocked by Facebook) and support for Reignite Democracy Australia, an activist group that sprang up in protest against the Melbourne lockdown.......
....Ms D'Ubios' interest in alternative health long pre-dated her interest in Reignite Australia. She began her quarantine in the Pan Pacific Hotel by giving her followers a demonstration in how to renew their body cells by priming their drinking water with a tuning fork.

What, don't you think she is a nutter? Why not debate that instead of making my aside the main point of your post?

    This woman is completely crazy:-
Ms D'Ubios' interest in alternative health long pre-dated her interest in Reignite Australia. She began her quarantine in the Pan Pacific Hotel by giving her followers a demonstration in how to renew their body cells by priming their drinking water with a tuning fork.“Don’t pay any more than $70 for your tuning fork," she said. "You don’t need to.”

By the end of the week, she was worn down by her allergies and exhorted her followers to rise up against the government.
"Dust is my worst enemy, besides the governments of the world and the people running this show," she said.

At the end of her day on the run, she turned herself in at a hospital.
However it was a Government owned and run hospital that she ended up going to.

I expect there is some underlying mental condition that she has.

Anyhow ... "fringe sciencetists" (yes deliberate spelling) are Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too common.
The world is currently polluted with them.

They are unable to recognise the difference between "informed" and "educated"
They are unable to realise they have made a mistake at some point and then atone for it and correct the damage done. Instead they deny and cover up they ever made an error.
They seek "confirmation" of their politics, not to reveal any truth.
When presented with evidence they will resort to special pleading, think the evidence is in error or more often, just ignore it because it does not confirm their ideology.
While some of them are just complete nutters and are easy to spot, the dangerous ones are smart people. They can get away with saying stupid shit and ordinary people buy the bullshit because of an appeal to authority. It's the Dunning-Kruger effect. This is why when a pilot sees a UFO people believe the story because... "well he's a pilot and knows what he is talking about." NO. he knows how to fly a plane, knows how to fly his kind of plane. Has seen lots of planes but now he recognizes alien spacecraft in unusual conditions. No. Good people make honest mistakes. But this does not exclude smart people from being cranks.

I know a few smart people and some of them are cranks. They believe all kinds of bullshit for all kinds of reasons.
This is one of the reasons why I insist everybody reading what I say, especially on this forum, not believe me. Assume I'm full of shit. Challenge everything I say.
I actually want to be wrong and I make mistakes all the time like any other normal person.
Where is tytower? Is he still pretending to ignore me. I'm that voice in his head that softly and sarcastically whispers the words "you know you're right."

And the fun part is, everybody has a Gri Gris. (we all believe something which isn't true) The trick is recognising it.

    Amen brother.....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
