    Hmmm, lets see.

Things don't look too good at the moment for many firms in the security business at the moment - particularly in NSW.
In the last few weeks their has been quite a few job loses.

Siemens BT Products closed their doors, with almost all jobs gone.
Anixter made 7 or so jobs redundant.
    Chubb have eliminated positions.
    ADT have reduced positions.
Dedicated Micros have also reduced jobs, via attrition and elimination.
    Including FastWRX's favourite salesperson..................

Although many of these have moved to other positions in the industry, eventually in the game of musical chairs the music stops - and somebody is left without a chair.

Since my last post in this thread things have picked up greatly. Lets hope it is not just the pre-christmas holiday rush.

well she's no longer my favourite salesperson now, she's my favourite unemployed person

Actually she's working now...ON HER TAN!!!

We're seeing a lot more businesses holding out payment for longer and longer, I've just sent two debts to the sheriff this week, with two more going next week.

    Last year we had One

I agree there, with the recession we will see a boom in B&E's, things are bad enough now, I can't wait. Especially around Christmas time, everyone is making sure their systems are up to scratch, getting a lot more maintenance jobs this time of year.

Was the uniform that you offered, the one that is on display in your Avatar???

If so, I can perhaps see why she may have declined..........

But in all seriousness, I hope she quickly finds another job.

You should employ PUSHKA, they are great

they sell you these envelopes and letters which you put the debtors details on and send out cost like $ 3.50 ea
    I got 99% paid within 3 weeks

Also if your debt is 2k or more and is undisputed then you can go stright to issuing a STATUTORY DEMAND, that process is quick and cheap, and does not require a court order.

After service of the demand, the company has 21 days to pay up, if it fails to do so, then you can proceed directly to a petition to wind up the company!

Pushka garuntee judgement (unless defended) or you get 100% of your money back.

    Thei rates are great to,

    Maximum pressure = Sue

We use them 40319664 or their head office is 0398745000 / 1800641617

Maybe they can spend some time and make their bloody DVRs more user friendly? Luckily we don't have to install them anymore as they are no longer specified

As per rotor138's post on the "Rexel Video no more" thread (), I guess you can add Rexel Video to the list.

Obviously the States are a year ahead of most of the rest of the world and even their security industry has been affected by the recession. UK installers are now starting to feel it and ADT are closing branches over there.

From the feedback I get from down under, either you are going to escape the worst of it or there is a delay in it reaching you.

Most of my enquiries now come from places like Indonesia, Africa and other "non-Western" countries that don't seem as badly affected.

LOL - They are not decoys. They are often the most important part of the alarm system as most people rely on them to scare away intruders. There is a "bell box" on every alarm system in the UK and the only decoys you will see are usually placed at the rear of the protected premises.

If the site is monitored, the installer has to program a ten minute delay on the audible warning to give the cops a chance to catch any intruders. Makes their detection rates and crime figures look good

Thats all right if the cops can attend in under 10 mins.
Over here it would take the cops longer than 10 mins to decide whether to attend or not, finding out if the alarm has be verified and meets new rules of attendance let alone trying to catch anyone. They make money from just answering the phone call.......why go out and do the job that they are paid for.

Mmmm.... makes you wonder why everyone is scrambling for the latest mega multi-path, secure, encypted, redundant, high speed, 60 second polling, fully supervised, certificated, standards approved super solutions when there is no system in place to gaurantee a simple police response

I for one cannot work it all out. The Brits may still be sending very basic fire, panic, burglar and open/close signals without zone info but at least every system is gauranteed a response as the police publish their response times and have to be seen to meet them.

I suppose when you squeeze (how many million?) poms in a place as small as Pomgolia you can expect police attendance within a specified time.

If McDonalds could speed up their drive-thru service, then we too could expect the same attendance.
