    Default Fujitsu AST30LBAJ Aircon PCB

Hi All. My cousin's aircon died after a power failure. Called Fujitsu and as the unit is over 10 years old, they no longer have a new board in their parts list. Before he spends money on a new one, he asked if I could have a look at the board (the air con guys talked about replacing the pcb and the Led board).

I've checked all the caps and mosfets. - all seemed fine. Relay wasn't switching when I hooked up a 9v battery so ordered a new one and have replaced it. The surge arrestor also looks ok and not blown. Unit still doesn't work - there's power as the leds light up red but no fan or cooling.

Just wondering if there's anything else worth checking? Board is clean and no signs of damaged components (sorry don't have the board with me to post pic).

There's a fair bit going on in the outdoor unit too, so that might be worth a look.
Are any of the front panel led's on or flashing ? (fast or slow)
Does the indoor unit have manual operate switch ? (just wondering if it's the remote that's not working)

There's no manual switch - we looked for that and the 4 Leds are on solid (not flashing). Trying to also find a service manual in case that helps

Try switching of the power on the switchboard for a minute, switch it on and try the a/c again. The a/c circuit that is.

The operating manual indicates that there is a "MANUAL AUTO" switch.

The "so called experts" that attended have declared the board faulty. So lets go with that.
They would have done the power off reset before delving deeper and eliminated the remote.
Time to look closer at the board. As this was after a power failure, there may have been power spikes.
Have you looked for any micro fuses?

We tried the Manual / Auto button but it seemed to do nothing (there's no other way to manually change temp other than the remote).

We checked the board and all fuses (indicated with F on board) are fine. The relay was the only component that seemed to not work properly. I'm waiting to get my hands on the LED board in case the IR receiver is gone. Not sure how as the voltage to that section is low. Will try that anyway. Also looking at some universal boards. Although not ideal, this will be enough to get the unit working and only $79. He will lose the Inverter function though.
