why is it that overseas viewers get it in better quality ?

Ha ha, I'm streaming aussie sports in 1080p via a UK feed in better quality than the Aussie feed.

Your playlist also have "Unknown_17" and "Unknown_18" listed but not streaming.
If you're using VLC and it crashes, try Disabling the "Hardware-accelerated decoding" in the Input/Codecs settings under preferences.

I meant there is no reason why our feeds can't be in at least 1080p ....

The reason is to do with licensing, broadcast rights, royalties, etc. All the crap that means more fans miss out.
9 have the licence to broadcast on FTA in high def, but not to do so online. Those rights appear to be held by Foxtel (via Fox Sports), who stream it online in high def via their apps or via Kayo
