    Default Dell Monitor stand

I have monitor stand that I would like to remove the rectangular plastic back. Does anyone know how to do this so that it can be re-assembled? The back is shown in one of the pictures.

    TIA.

If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

If you mean the thin black sheet of plastic on the back, it is likely either just glued on or attached with screws that would be accessible after you remove everything from the front.
Try first with a hair dryer if any adhesive gets soft so you could carefully pry it off.

I have one similar and there is a push button on the lower edge hidden by the stand that when depressed will allow the monitor to be slid up and removed. Have a good look for the hidden button.

The word this is crucial ...

I can get the monitor off - what I want/would like to do is to remove the plastic back so that I can drill holes in it and fix a small PC to it.

Rather than drilling holes, would superglue do the trick?

No - an Odroid U3 with other bits and bobs.

similar size and no weight , i did a similar setup a while back for a bloke
i just drilled and tapped the alloy and then mounted MB risers with a plate
and fixed the pi or in your case the droid to that.

Decent double-sided tape should be more than adequate.

That’s the path I’d go down. Check out the 3M “Dual Lock” ones - much better and more precise than velcro. The object snaps in to place with a distinct “click” and doesn’t wobble around like with Velcro. It’s supposed to be good for 1000 attach/remove operations.
