LG Multi Recorder DVD's showing as blank in PC

I have been given a few precious DVD disks from a mate that were recorded onto by a LG Multi recorder. The type with inbuilt HDD and burner. The multi recorder has died so I am attempting to retrieve the recorded dvd's onto a PC as files but the disks are showing as blank in my PC when they clearly contain data. Both my Blue ray ROM and separate DVD ROM give same results showing as blank disk. I'm running W10. Any ideas on what is needed to display files. If I can at least get this far then I have half a chance at re encoding to an Mpeg4 or equivalent type.

Due to tolerances in home cd/dvd players, non-commercially produced CD's and DVD's will not play successfully on all devices.

Therefore, try several other DVD players.

In order to copy the DVD's using a PC, it is necessary to use appropriate DVD burning software, e.g.

Ashampoo Burning Studio Free.
WinX DVD Author.
BurnAware Free.
DeepBurner Free.
DVDStyler.

+1 ...same thought I had ~ not really a problem using linux and dvd+rw-tools , no idea how other OS's can deal with it

Yes, that's correct; I still have on old recorder that does exactly that.

Ok had a quick look around, ISOBuster can do this & if you follow the video below you can do it with the free version.
