Any boot cd such as Hierens or Barts boot cd
and boot your computer with it
and just use the file explorer program
to drag the files you want onto a usb stick etc
cheers
HI all,
I have a problem with the following!
I recently install a legal (yes legal) copy of Vista on my laptop. It was Vista ready when I bough it, so I though what the hell! I knew if it didn't work then I would just put it on a new PC I am building.
I backedup all my data, a clone on a seperate HDD, which I was able to access via a external USB drive. After a few days I knew my Laptop wasn't going to cut it with Vista so srubbed it and put XP back on.
When I tried to access my old files from my original XP install, the clone, it seems that Vista has changed the security settings so now I can't access my Doc & Settings folder!
Can anyone help with removing the access restrictions? I need my old .pst and some other word docs. I don't really care for the rest!
Cheers,
Zaius.

When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
