So? If you are a copper and you see some suspect with a gun and they are not responding to your requests to stop and put the gun down, what would you do? Given the "shoot first" culture in the USofA I'd be more inclined to shoot the suspect if they are not responding to a request to stop.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
Perhaps rather than reach for the holster that holds the lethal weapon perhaps reach for the other holster that holds the non lethal weapon that has been proven to be just as effective at neutralising the threat, you can stop a person with a taser just as you can with a gun.

What I find interesting is watching NITV news tonight they are talking about reducing domestic violence in indigenous communities.
I wonder what aboriginal women think we should do to help reduce violence in Aboriginal communities?
Since you guys like statistics, you might enjoy trolling through these.
When it comes to deaths in custody, it would appear the main issue is that prisoners are not getting medical treatment they need when they need it.
Kind of like the rest of us outside of prison.
I have no solutions here. In general here in Australia we try to keep people out of prison. It saves a more time, money, pain and effort in the long run.
We generally lock up people because they are dangerous and to prevent them hurting other people and or they have a high chance of re-offending.
It could be worse, it could be the USA where deaths in custody is measured as a KPI.

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
