There're some here and elsewhere who adopted the government notion that AZ is suddenly safe to use and the side effects including blood clots which have caused death, a "media hype" bordering on fake news.

AZ is not approved by the US FDA, and has been phased out in many European countries...>>

I am thinking in the lines that anybody now questioning the safety of AZ in Australia will be seen as a national enemy.
I can't help thinking that any new cases of blood clots will be silenced as that could be seen a threat to national security.

My doctor sez........ Actually, he didn't say much, just stabbed me in the arm, "wots that for?" "oh, just a little something I cooked up...." Seriously, my doctor happily gave me the AZ jab. I am still here to talk about it.

AZ, according to person who gave me the jab (she looked alright too!) was initially they did not know how to react to the blood clot situation, but now have procedures on how to treat them

The advise quickly changed from.. everybody is eligible ... to ... 60+ , 40+ and now everybody including year 12 student... if anything it's the decision makers who are in panic mode, total incompetence

... AZ in itself can equally be categorized as a threat to national security.

Both your links were from earlier this year. In the COVID space, anything but the most current medical advice, from reliable (not 'fake new' Chinese media sources like posted) is essentially irrelevant and should not be relied upon.

The fact is that AZ is not 'suddenly' safe. It always has been. There have been more than 2 billion doses of AZ administered around the world, and while there have been complications in a very small number of people (~0.0005% of people worldwide according the the latest advice on the Fed Heath Dept. website today) those complications are no greater than those experienced by those administered with Pfizer, or any other COVID vaccine - and are less than many medicines provided over the counter at pharmacies everyday in Australia.

AZ has been approved for use in Australia, and deemed safe, for everybody above the age of 18 since the outset. That approval has not changed. The confusion in Australia comes because of the advisory body ATAGI, who suggested placing age limits on usage. Those limits were was based on the fact that, at the time, there were essential no COVID cases in Australia, which meant (at that time) the risk of possible complications (at ~0.0005%) were seen to be, within thousandths of a decimal point, higher than the risk of getting and dying from COVID.

With the latest outbreaks there is now a significantly higher chance of contracting and dying from COVID than there is from any vaccination, and on that basis ATAGI have advised to remove the age restrictions and make AZ again available to everybody above 18. AZ is not suddenly any more or less 'safe', but the risk of dying from COVID is now seen as higher than dying from the vaccine. It is simple mathematics.

As long as your mygov is linked to your medicare.
Once I did that I was able to get enough proof to cross the Qld border (I've only has one AZ)

How long apart was your two AZ's? Up here they say 12 weeks

Yeah, exactly 12 weeks mate. And yes, they are linked.

12 weeks is the ideal time apparently. In parts of NSW they are pushing it a bit closer due to the situation, but that can reduce the efficacy.

I was trying to link my medicare account via mygov and I was having all sorts of problems.

My name is incorrect.. eg: O'Connor (see the apostrophe?) mines not on my medicare card, just 'OConnor'.. AND that will not allow it to link.
According to medicare I now have resend my ID which could take 14-30 days to correct with a new card required.
They could of fixed the bloody apostrophe while I was on the phone explaining the issue. Too much red tape BS. Not happy Jan.
