Default Which crt is the best?

    I've got 2 tv's
One is a 68 cm LOEWE.
The other is a 78 cm GRUNDIG.

The GRUNDIG turned up in the local hard rubbish collection and is now in working order.
It has a TOSHIBA Picture tube.
I can't remember what tube is in the LOEWE.
One of these Units needs to be in my Lounge Room and at the moment it is the LOEWE.
Should I go through the necessary procedures to replace the LOEWE with the GRUNDIG?

My eyesight ain't as good as it used to be, and my artistic appreciation is as terrible as it ever was.
How do you determine which Television will produce the best picture?
I tried putting them side by side but can't make up my mind.
What is it that makes one picture tube better than another?
And how do you measure it?

    G'day Mooee,
I've got one of each of those sets and acquired in the same manner as yours,
I prefer the look of the Grundig.

    Dash.

There are some Loewe models that have been recalled, they had a few that went up in flames.

    Default depending on models

    hi there,

If the Grundig is a Digi100 chassis, then I would keep it as a main TV set.

If the Loewe tube is a LG/Philips that will go faulty in the near future.

A simple way of testing the tube is to see how much brightness and contrast is needed to see it as a normal picture.

Which ever control is lower on a either tv would be the better one.

    Regards,

    Arty

Ain't been here for a while.

I have a pattern generator but only use it for adjusting geometry and things.
I read about them Flaming Loewes.
Mine may well be one of 'em.
That's okay though, I don't got a lot of excitement in my life.

The Loewe tube has definitely got problems with the pixels.
They ain't been painted in a perfectly square matrix.
On both sides in the middle, the Pixels are further apart vertically than they are the rest of the screen.
Don't make a lot of difference to viewing because usually watch the centre of the television.

Found a problem with the Grundig.
The sound has noise that is very annoying at higher Volumes when there are quiet moments in the Audio Content.
Getting too old for repairing now.Am in the couldn't be stuffed anymore area of life.
I'm usually content with what little I have, but often get caught up in the tide when something is available for FREE even when I don't know what it is.

few and far between actually, i owned a loewe crt for 15 yrs and its still going strong, i just recently gave it to a home of less fortunates who love the clarity of the picture even though its only a 50hz model. best TV's ever made in my opinion.
