Default Favourite Sayings... Actually Life Changing!!

Apart from a 'Tech', I'm also a 'Muso'. Have spent decades helping people with certain Musical Instruments, as well as 'fitting-in' with various
'Un-Plugged' groups/venues... I've always loved, and gone by a saying that originally had no connection to Music, but goes like this...

"May those who soar in the sky, Walk, back down the Mountain, and teach those with Leadened Feet, to Fly!!!".

I think this attitude fits brilliantly with so many aspects/topics in life, and how I've always lived 'my' life !!!

I'm not sure why I started this post... nor why I'm saying what I'm saying below !!!...
I think it's just because one become melancholy in latter years when not well, and just feel that some things should be passed on !!

I'm 'not' really religious, but have always been 'old-fashioned', and used to listen to my father's old "Tennessee Ernie Ford" records when I was about 10.
This guy never really 'preached' as such, but between songs, he would tell short stories/parables. 'One' such story, was 'before' singing a song called...
"If I Could Help Somebody". This also became one of the major influences in life, treated people, and tried to bring up my kids!! It said...

"The story is told about a young boy, who was out in the paddocks trying very hard to lift a heavy stone. By himself. His father came up to him, and
said "Are you using all your strength!". "Yes I am", said the boy, to which the father replied... "No, you are not, for you have not asked me to help!, as
there-in lies 'your' strength!!". That changed my life then, even though I'm not religious. I always gave more than I 'took' in life, be-it helping family,
friends, neighbors, work-apprentices etc etc. It costs nothing... but I accomplished a lot !!
