Have you checked the Challenger comms paths are enabled and their parameters are correct?
By default, comms path 3 is used for management software via Ethernet, check this is enabled and the settings are correct.
G'Day all
Ive been tryingto connect CTPlus to a challenger LE plus panel. Ive confirmed the settings from the RAS to the software, and im pretty confident their all correct. I can ping it from my local PC and mobile app (ultra sync) still works so safe to say the network connectivity is OK...
The issue occured when the data base updated and has since refused to connect. I re-installed CTPlus and even connected via USB to upload the config yet still wont connect...
I was just wondering if anyone had a check or cheat sheet on things to check or parameters to set to ensure the software connects via local ethernet...
Any help is much appreciated. happy to send connection set up over PM and CTPlus DB to compare.

More than likely you need to activate comms. Menu 7 > 6 or power cycle the panel.
The Menu 7 > 6 option only lasts 60 minutes, so you'd have to do that every time you want to connect.
Have you thought about backing up the databases and reinstalling CTPlus?
You're having this issue with multiple paths?|
If there are multiple USB paths present in the system or the software, it won't connect via USB. This may apply for using the
If the send to IP Address parameters in Comms Path is not exactly what your PC is set to, then I recommend ticking Dynamic Computer Address. Alternatively you can try setting the computer address to 0.0.0.0. I have had it working this way in TITAN. Also, it might be worth trying Gateway in the Comms Port and also Comms Devices > Ethernet to 0.0.0.0. Obviously both the software and the panel need to be using the same IP port and any references to the panel's IP address must link to the panel.

Hi CT4,
This one had me stumped for a while but (sort of) found out why so ill write up what i did incase someone else comes accross this.
Seems some of the files left behind after un-installing from windows were either corrupted after the DB upgrade or something else wasnt right in them: (C:\Program files (x86)\ Tecom) ... Turns out I had to manually delete all the files from the folder structure, as when you install CTPlus again it doesnt clear up and over write with new default files, it must keep the previous files?
But before you can delete them, you have to end the "tccomms.exe" & "TecomDBMaintenance.exe" process'. Mine was hidden from the typical list in task manager and i had to open up "resmon.exe" in windows 10. After i ended those process' i was able to delete CTplus remaining files and re-installed a new instance of CTPlus and was able to connect to the panel via usb and do an upload.
Feel free to let me know if it was just a coincidence or if the remaining files could of been playing havoc on connecting to the panel
Hmm. I wrote a response but mustn't have sent it... I think you're bang-on with your assessment that the incomplete/corrupt remnants of CTPlus were inhibiting you capacity to connect to the panel. It's not uncommon for apps not to completely uninstall. Antivirus software is notorious for it - probably in part due to the software being frequently updated, causing the installer to be outdated. Most AV software has specialised uninstall programs that you can run to fully remove them. Anyway, it's good that you posted a response with how you got it working
