    Default Bosch Sensor upgrade

I have a number of bosch DS940Q sensors around the house. they are all working fine (about 12 years old), but I was thinking of updating them to either the ISC-BPQ2-W12 (direct quad replacement) or the ISC-BDL2-W12G (tritech).

So is it worth updating the sensors to the same quad ones except newer model...or upgrading them to the tritech ones with microwave technology.?
I want to gather some opinions on this "upgrade"

Tritech will be best, but used mainly in a garage etc or if you have pets.
The quads will be cheaper and will be ok in a standard house.
If your having false alarm issues go for tritechs

not having issues with any of the older quad sensors or false alarms, I was mainly looking to see if its worthwhile to upgrade to the newer models. eg do they work better.
I did buy a tritech one and had a quick play around with it, however I wasnt sure what microwave setting I should set it to. Also with the tritech are they ok to be used in rooms?

Sensor technology does improve over the years and will most likely be better then what you have. Some older sensors do tend to get sleepy with age and may not pick up as sharp.
Tritech can be installed in any rooms ok in a house or office. Generally I would set microwave to about 1 or 2 o'clock on the dial.

Conversely they can be oversensitive, so newer ones might false trigger when older ones didn't. I'd hands down recommend the tritech ones over the quads.

cool thanks. I've managed to order a couple for testing and I've noticed one has a more of a darker cream colour case..and the other one which was manufactured few months later (late 2021) is a more normal pure white colour. Anyway one can confirm if Bosch changed the cases colour about half way in 2021?

Maybe it's been sitting near a heat source and discoloured. I don't recall a colour change, but I think Bosch might of changed countries where some items were being made.

Try posting a pic of the 2 PIR's together.

It wouldn't be discolouration as I've got 3 of these sensors and the older produced ones earlier in 2021 have a more creamier colour as per photo on the left.
The newer produced one on the right is a more brighter white.
Also both were made in the same country from memory.

ok, Not sure on reason for the different colour. I haven't noticed it with sensors I have used so far.
