    Default Need a new shirt?

Just head over to your nearest It's 100% certain you'll find one there, and probably a new dress for the missus and some trousers too. All free!
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

thats huge , and im glad they are being recycled to an extent.

my sis used to manage a large charity shop in Sydney , and any donated items which didnt make the grade due to a small defect would get bundled into a 40 footer and sent to a charity in PNG for distribution to one village at a time . And if certain people wanted favourable treatment from certain village chiefs , a load of brand new footy jumpers in all sizes was added to the container

Sad to see such waste, when it could be used to help clothe those (especially children) is poor countries.

There was one line in that article that made me laugh ....

"Globally, some 92 million metric tonnes (1 metric tonne is 2,204 pounds) of textile waste is produced by the fashion industry each year."

Fark me! If that's the case, imagine how many tonnes of textile waste is produced by the CLOTHING industry each year!!....lol...frigging journos, they all have the brain power of a squashed ant =)

From what I've observed over the years, most of it is worn by the models...

Apparently, from watching a show on TV not long ago, a lot of the used donated clothing sent overseas to poor countries ends up in landfill too.

Ha... With the scrawny anorexic un-natural look of a lot of clothing models, there
wouldn't be much material to waste on them! About as much as in a handkerchief !!
