    The story...

“This is a military warship. This is a Russian military warship. I suggest you lay down your weapons and surrender to avoid bloodshed and needless casualties. Otherwise, you will be bombed,” the Russian office was recorded as saying on a naval radio channel.

After a short period of silence in the recording, a Ukrainian officer reportedly responded: “Russian warship, go f*ck yourself.”

I would be careful with US intelligence and even if they do, THEN what?

I saw this on the news last night. Those guards were brave men and deserve the honours bestowed upon the albeit posthumously.

If the event took place those guards were brave men indeed.

I just want to note both sides are flooding internet with fake news and this particular case probably one of them. There were 82 guards, not 13 and all surrendered to Russians.
Just saw an interview from one of the guards saying they were buried a bit premature.
All 82 signed a letter they will not fight against Russia and let go home. Don't know how much truth in everything but it seems like too many fake news are floating around.

Brave are those reporters(including from our ABC) who stay in the war zone and take live footage, so those who are allowed access to this information can see and hear at least some truth.

I question why this is referred to as a 'War', when Putin is now just another Hitler style mad-man
who has already deliberately slaughtered hundreds of civilians at the drop of a hat!!!

The international solidarity is overwhelming, I don't think we have seen this in the history of mankind on a pure civilian basis.
The war has yet to begin: Putin's Russia against his own people ...unless this megalomaniacal psychopath goes nuclear first.

A test of what is to come if a similar psychopath invades Taiwan.

Putin's 30 Second takeover seems to have been delayed.

    Good post.

That second statement however, should maybe end in a question mark. I'm not sure that the wokely woke crowd of luminaries will see it that way. The entire pacific region has allowed itself to be besotted and/or bought by China, and as such, may bury their heads in the sand. I hope not, but I don't have great faith.

When the government changes, we'll see.

After reading the following article, I'm not sure anyone really knows how far Putin will go or get.

    Cheers, Tiny

Not just the Pacific Region, but the entire world - almost every electronic item we use nowadays includes some form of component from China.

If China were to follow suite and the world imposed the same restrictions, people around the world would find themselves needing to live without many things needed for daily life.

Likely that's why Ryan asked Putin to go in now -- to gauge/measure this very reaction =)

'Tis the 'fuse' you speak of -- with companies scrambling to setup fabs in somewhere other than CN. Should a squirmish break out with TW, the component market would get emptier, quicker, than it is right now.

There would be a tipping point, a moment in time, when the rest of the world isn't so dependent, and can make their own components, and once that is so, we can attack. The fuse ; they know this too.
