Default Russian Order Of Glory - 677389

After finding some renewed interest after finding the Ukrainian group, I went through my box of treasures and found :

2 x Order Of Glory Third Class
3 x Order Of The Red Star

I was surprised to find that I had both Glory's researched as I thought I only had one researched. But any way, one at a time.

Russian Order Of Glory - 677389

Our man this time is an ethnic Russian, Arkhipov Pavel Mikhailovich from the Leningrad Region. Born 1911, he was drafted in March 1944 so it doesn't look like he was keen to sign up and was not a Communist Party member.
Unless you know your history really well, you would not be aware that Russia had not one, not two wars against Finland during WW2, but three ! This citation relates to what is known as the "Continuation War" in which the Soviets won.

Now for a man who didn't seem keen to fight, this is an astounding citation as well as being an award for fighting the Finn's
He has destroyed not one, but two enemy weapon emplacements and their crews. God knows how many people he has killed there, but he has then also " destroyed about a platoon of Finnish soldiers".
I don't think you would want to piss this guy off.

Beloostrov Station is mentioned, Beloostrov is located on the Karelian Isthmus , see below :

Basically on the map above in WW2, St Peterberg is known by its old name, Leningrad and Beloostrov is basically a suburb of it.
This link should take you there on Google Maps

The Karelian Isthmus is an important piece of land, it's the peninsula that separates Finland and Russia.

Amazingly, if you use that Google Map link I put up and zoom in, you end up right on Beloostrov railway Station. And the river right next to it ? The Sestra.

This was the only award Arkhipov Mikhailovich was awarded to his records.

I cannot find his village, presumably the name changed or it was destroyed, but it was in Luga District which you can see below :
