HL-5130/5140/5150D/5170DN all use the same laser Unit..
Sorry, we don't have a parts machine from that series, normally we throw the whole printer out as it's an old model.

    Part No: LM2835001

What error code popped up on Leds/dispaly ?

I get part# Lu0706001 superseding Part# LM2835001 ....is that right? If so, I can find the former available on order for US$65...but is it worth it for a near 20yo machine??...probably not (unless of course one could find a donor unit cheap)...again and as you say, probably not ~ most would've hit the ewaste bin years ago =)

Not really sure about the Part No update, It's an Oldie and would normally end up in the e-bin.

The Brother HL-5140 parts manual shows (Brother Australia)

    LM2835001 - LASER UNIT ZL2E (SP)

Older Laser Units can sometimes be repaired very easy. The error code will help figure that out.

Yep, about that money, and 2ppm quicker, can dance on more than A4...and everything's new with warranty.

I've got a HL-1110 sitting around here somewhere, OP could have it for postage cost, but that's probably more expensive than OP buying one local to them =)

    Thank you all very much
The laser polygon motor is making a loud noise and I need to replace it because the bearing has seized
I don't mind buying the same printer for parts pending on the price
If anyone has one please let me know or the part

Have a look at your local Govt Auctions, Whenever I need a spare printer I go there My last one cost me about $50 and still had toner. HP 1312NFI colour printer/scanner/fax. I also managed to pick up enough toner to last the rest of my life for about $20 too.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Many years ago when the polygon motor bearing became very noisy or seized, I would stripped it down and put a coupler drops of machine Oil on the bearing.

If you can get it to spin freely on your workbench then there's a good chance the polygon motor will spin up to speed within the required time and the problem should be fixed.

    Good luck..
